Multiplayer question

I am new…and dont know how to fly plus dont want to learn flying using the keyboard. HOTAS is arriving next week. Is there a way for me to observe a flight that someone else is piloting while in MSFS multiplayer mode? Just to enjoy the graphics until I am ready to start tutorials?
Possible?

Hi @Mattyice157 - There is not currently a shared cockpit feature, but you can load in to a ramp parking location and watch aircraft activity at an airport.

The dev team have discussed a shared cockpit capability but at this stage there hasn’t been any indication when it might be implemented.

If you’d like to vote for this capability, suggest you use the #self-service:wishlist subcategory to let the dev team know what features you want to be added or improved. Start by searching the category to see if someone has started a topic about “shared cockpit”. If they have, open the topic and click the vote button to show your support for their idea. If your idea is brand new, then create a topic explaining the feature, include the what and why.

You can view the most wished-for ideas here: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/c/self-service/wishlist/163/l/latest?order=votes

Thank you @Sartanius - how do I do that…I am completely new

From the World Map:

  • Click “Select Departure Airport” and type in the 4-letter airport ICAO code (e.g., KATL for Atlanta Hartsfield)
  • Zoom in close to the airport and select a gate or ramp location.
  • When you select the gate or ramp, select “Set as Departure” from the small menu that appears.
  • Using the slider at the lower LH side, select the time for your event
  • Click the “Fly” button.

Join the discord, and asking people on there might help! The day the game released, I asked people if they could show me how to fly a plane. A few obliged and I hopped on to a public channel where one of them streamed his game live. With me was a few others who wanted to observe how to do a circuit from the top. Really helpful bunch!

Hello,
I also only play keyboard and mouse at the moment. It’s doable. To learn, all you have to do is complete the 8 trainings offered in the MSFS training section.
It’s very accessible.
If you have a blockage, do not hesitate to question me directly.

I joined it. Need to investigate how to do what you are mentioning

Choose the formation in the main menu (the red block of the picture).

And you have to choose one of the eight. The most difficult is the fourth for my opinion

You might find that allowing AI to control the aircraft interesting.
Once you’ve selected your flight and pressed ‘Fly now’, open the the top menu and you’ll find the AI options.
I’ve enjoyed a few scenic flights that way!
