My cockpit camera has a mind of it's own

I am now working on about my 5th install of FS2024, into both Steam and in Xbox (trial).

On one occasion, an Xbox system actually behaved itself, and I could configure all my cockpit views just fine, but since then - NO CHANCE…

When I spawn in to say EGLC (London City Airport) in a Cessna C172, I am met by a VERY close up view of the PFD screen. Zooming back out only moves the view back by around 12 inches, totally hopeless for even attempting to fly in the sim.

If I rotate 180 degrees and scroll forward, it does go toward the rear of the aircraft, but as soon as I let the mouse wheel go, it simply scrolls it’s way back to the original close- up position.

I have tried every key combination and most likely options in both the Mouse and Keyboard setups, but either they simply do nothing, or say I setup Alt-> to translate Right in the cockpit, it tries to move upwards ! Nothing in there seems to Make any sense at all to what I am trying to achieve.

Worse yet, after I do a new installation after going into Steam and deleting all the files shown in Steam the Browse via the the BROWSE files option, in the hope I will get a clean start, the new installation keeps coming back up with the settings I was trying previously ? This happens in Steam and Xbox, they obviously cache everything despite my UNCHECKING that option in Steam for sure.

I seem to remember around a month or so ago, in the pretty early days of the dreadful 2024 launch, I encountered this self returning problem but fortunately some kind person answered my plea with a single setting in the config system that fixed it zooming back all by itself, but really stupidly I did NOT make a note of it anywhere (Mea Culpa) and cannot now find it in the forum.

Can anyone help me out here with a way to get my cockpit camera to give me a decent view out of the front from the pilots seat rather than pressing my nose up against the PFD? I will be eternally grateful, (and i will write it down somewhere safe as well )

Thanks a lot folks

Check your options in the General, Camera, Cockpit Camera options.
Maybe the Zoom setting.
