Hello, does anyone happen that flying in multiplayer with some friends these disappear and appear every two by three? We are flying together and to which we realize we no longer see each other until they appear again, I do not know what it will be, I think it is the server connection, it has always happened, but more since this last SU5 update, we want to make videos for Youtube but so it is impossible.

Happens to me as well, and others I fly with in MP, also have commented that this happens to them.

It means “low internet”. This is the famous “time-traveler” in games like GTA
No, it just means that the sim has a strange priority of which aircraft to render.
And indeed it got much worse since SU5, making group flights hard to follow.
Dynamically , and Computing the 50 closest players, to each given player, with so many players is no easy task.
Then when you have some players randomly leaving or joining, it becomes even more complex.
I was in a large MP session a few days ago (Forderlearntofly stream) and my plane, that was showing up earlier with my MS ID, had changed to UNKNOWN.
Disconnected from server & re-joined, and my correct name came back up.
My plane itself was always visible … and I obviously have no idea what went wrong or where, but I am sure if it was Easy, it may not have so many difficulties – (he says, stating the obvious),
Just had never seen the “UNKNOWN” Tag before !!!
SU5 and a step jump in the number of new players (X-box), now in the MP session…
Not sure it’s the actual number of players - it basically doesn’t matter if you have 100 or 200 mutliplayer aircraft around you.
I noticed that the sim prefers players behind me more than the ones ahead of me since SU5, just like it was evaluating my position from some seconds back instead of my current position (which actually could be possible if the evaluation happens on the servers).
So when fyling in a larger group, most players I see are behind me, even if there seemingly are closer ones ahead of me.
But testing that is a bit complicated since it mainly happens if you have >30 (which is the limit I think) players so that the sim actually has to prioritize.
It’d be all easier, if the sim would at least expose multiplayer aircraft in a certain radius via SimConnect so you could see them in LittleNavMap etc.
Or if there was some website showing the WorldMap (which shows all players in your current view, not just the limited 30).
I see Unknown tags about every flight now. It’s been getting worse over the past week. And it can just be the only other thing in the sky in a remote location or one of dozens of other players in the sky.
Then there are some that seem stuck? I saw the same player sitting in the exact same location besides the runway (in the trees) at St Barts for days. It’s hard to believe he left his PC on with the plane sitting there for half a week.

No, this is a bug introduced with SU5.
I was referring to the total number of players on each MS server – and a probably jump increase when the X-Box version of MSFS was released.
The 50 or so players around you are just a very small sub-set of that total, but those 50 out of the total, have to be determined, and kept track of …
Hmm it might be that the overall load increased, but the problem of calculating X closest aircraft to you is technically pretty easy knowing their coordinates.
The sim recalculates the closest aircraft quite often judging from the popping in and out of them. It just seems like it’s either working with different parameters since SU5 or it has a different data base (e.g. lagging behind the actual positions, resulting in a wrong “cloud” of rendered players).
Hard to say, I just can tell that it was MUCH easier to fly in big groups before SU5.
It’d also be great if we could add players that we would like to prioritize in this evaluation to have them rendered no matter if they are further away with higher priority. This way before a group flight one could at least add the group leader(s) to that list and would see them throughout the flight.
There’s SO much Asobo/MS could do with quite minor tweaks to make multiplayer more enjoyable. It leaves me speechless that they didn’t even bother to work on this for XBox release, where such “arcade” activities are surely more common than for simmers.
I’m betting it has the same root cause that’s affecting Azure. The Xbox Live Status page shows an outate reported last week (8/18/2021, 1:20:14 AM) that still hasn’t been resolved.
OK, thank you all for your answers, yesterday we made a flight with the 747, and it was perfect, but at times I saw my friends and at times I did not see them, they disappeared.
In these shots there are two of us, one is missing that was almost always missing.
