My last two attempted flights with PMDG's 737-800 have resulted in the game freezing and becoming fully unresponsive as soon as I level out at cruise altitude

Hmmā€¦ I just had a similar experience with the HondaJet. I reached cruise altitude and was settling in for the ride and the whole sim locked up, but didnā€™t CTD.

Thatā€™s twice now. Once with the 737-700 and again with the HJet.

Argh. I didnā€™t have these sorts of issues pre-SU14 ever. Time to go dumpster diving for possible mod issues.

I had same issue in black square king air last night over west Texas. It was unrecoverable

Black Square 850, 15 minutes before landing I had a unrecoverable freeze.

Last update it was Rex accuseason causing a CTD. I will uninstall next and give it a try and report back my findings. Any of you using Rex? Nvm, used Rex to restore original files and already froze. Ran Asobo king air, also froze. Renamed community folder no issue at all. So something in there is breaking things.

Experienced freeze as well when levelling off for cruise altitude: Fly by wire A320, Xbox Series X. Flight from Sydney to Adelaide. Completley unresponsive to any controls had to forcibly exit the sim resulting in flight lost.

I wrote this elsewhereā€¦but happened again aboard the 787. Lima to Rio flight. As soon as I hit cruise altitude, the screen froze.

Edit:
testing out if there is a correlation with the fact that my tvā€™s ā€œgame mode was turning on and offā€. I usually leave this off. Will report back after redoing same flight as earlier.

2nd edit:
Fairly certain that is what it was. Turned game mode off on my tv and my 5h fight went smooth as butter.

i turn off vsync from nvidia settings and copy new dlss 3.5.10 file in msfs, tested today with pmdg 738 no freeze. 3-4 flights.

Same problem on PC, mostly happened with PMDG738ļ¼Œand once in the FBW320 while cruising or climbing. The sim just froze, and I could use alt+tab or winkey to get back to the desktop , but would not return to the sim any more. At the same time the GPU usage would be 0% , and the game process could only be shut down in the task manager.
I have installed the latest updates for PMDG738, but this still happens occasionally.

Same with me and was able to replicate- Climbing out of KMIA with the PMDG 737-800, and again out of KSLC in the 737-600ā€¦Freezes at cruise alt and climbout randomly. Can only terminate process and try againā€¦

2 flight in a row tonight CYUL to KLCT, 2 attempts, 2 freezes. 1st in the middle of nowhere. (Adirondacks) and the other one at the begining of my descent to Charlotteā€¦

This seems intermittent regardless of mods or aircraft chosen on my system. Given itā€™s occurring on Xbox as well as pc, it would need to be core sim or marketplace mods.

No issues at all on my XBOX X and flying to add-on airports mostly. I have traffic OFF lately as i have found that to introduce lots of stutters at busy airports. Might be an issue with add-ons you have installed. Also, and I know it is a pain, if it still behaves like that it is worth doing a re-install of the SIM and start afresh, slowly adding add-ons to see if you can find the culpritā€¦

Thanks for the reply. Already been down that road. Completely uninstalled everything and reinstalled. Started with the update early December. Unfortunately it doesnā€™t happen often or repeatable enough to the threads I see of others that Asobo even pays attention. She emakes me regret investing in marketplace items. Iā€™ve got my moneyā€™s worth out of the sim. Thanks again for responding.

Same issue on XBSXā€¦ If you have a Xbox, donā€™t buy PMDG stufs. Itā€™s not made for console.
