SInce youposted this, a few people have given you advice. I thought you would have been able to fix it with that advice.
So …
- Does it still do it?
- Does it do it on every flight?
- Is the Autopilot on?
- What mode is the autopilot in? (LNAV VNAV HDG buttons lit up green)
- Were LOC or APP lit up green?
- What did it say in the MFD window (the wording when you use FD that appears above the attitude/height/speed MFD — it is quite hard to see that on the photo above, as it is blurry with the NAV map on)
- If you can, a short video (youtube etc) showing them would be helpful
You can use this pic to tell us what was on and off if you can’t make a video or get a high res picture :¬)
This next image shows:
1 That the FD (flight director) is on
2 The aircraft is using HDG HOLD as it’s automatic heading (set by turning the HDG knob in the picture above, then pressing the HOLD button below it, which lights up green)
3 Altitude is set, and the HOLD button is on (below it, lit up green)
4 The purple dotted line shows the heading programed by the HDG knob, this line will disappear
This next image shows me in a flight, where:
1 The FD (flight director) shows the set altitude and direction as purple lines, and that the aircraft is heading on track
2 The autopilot is using the correct LNAV to follow the waypoints
3 THe heading knob is set to a direction different to the waypoints, which shows in of them labelled “3”
AND It is NOT using those, it is following a different path
4 The current part of the flightplan is PURPLE, in both the MFD and the VFR map
In your picture, the path is white. This is why I suspect you were either on a leg of the flightplan different to the one you were expecting, or you were in a different mode than waypoint following.
