Hi there, Does Navigraph renew the beta version monthly for MSFS 2020 like the AIRAC Cycle? Any help is greatly appreciated. TIA.
I think they renew the application beta version whenever they have the next build ready. I know Beta 23 was released in January, and only recently that they updated to Beta 24 now, with a new function of letting you know when an AIRAC cycle is ready for update, and an in-game panel for the Navigraph charts.
To clarify, the beta software itself doesn’t change. When a new cycle is released you just click the REMOVE button and then click the INSTALL button. The whole process takes about a minute.
Not in Beta 24 version. Now it will show “UPDATE” and you just click it and it’ll update for you. The REMOVE and INSTALL is for Beta 23 and before. You might need to install the latest beta 24 software to get this function as well as the in-game Navigraph Charts panel.
Well, to be honest, I updated the last cycle with Beta 23 and upgraded to Beta 24 afterwards. Thanks for the heads up.
How can they add Add-on for Aerosoft CRJ in Navdata Center?
Thanks guys for the help and information. I just installed the Beta Version 24 and updated the files.
i tried to download that version of beta…but for some reasons, it says that i’m not allowed to …(i m having the plan with them though)…any reason ? thanks
From beta 24 on the app identified the supported addons (and the list will be growing in the next months due new finished addon aircraft projects ) automatically, means when you have the AS CRJ installed, you will see it also in the app and have the same functionally like with the AIRAC cycle package (install - remove - update).
Cheers,
Richard
Please can you report your issue in our forum, that we can look, what happened with your account?
Thank you,
Richard
Must say it’s very nice to have the CRJ included in the Navdata Center, thanks for adding it.
Does this mean that Navdata Center will replace the old FMS Data app entirely at some point?
Yes, we are currently working to implement all previous features from the FDM into the Navdata Center.
We have started now with the MSFS because there are the most requests of new data-formats for new upcoming addons but we work parallel to migrate the FDM features into the new Navdata Center.
The Navigraph Navdata Center will be the new place, where you can update all your sim data and addons with the latest data in the future
Cheers,
Richard
I’m glad I stumbled across this topic. Other than the monthly navdata, I didn’t know there was anything new.
I would have to say that the best part of Navigraph now is the “in sim” charts and moving map. Well done guys. I used to always have Navigraph running on my phone, tablet or in the background. So nice to just pull up the approach plates right in the cockpit while flying. I am not a huge fan of using autopilot and this allows me to remain focused on hand flying the aircraft while reviewing the approach/arrival.
I still can’t get the moving map to work in-sim. I can open the charts, and see my flight plan and everything, but it doesn’t show me the current location and how far I’m tracking the flight.
Maybe a stupid question put did you click the little arrow in the top right?
And you have Navigraph’s Simconnect running?
Hi Richard, a quick question please, if we’re using Little Nav Map, do we still need to have the FMS Data manager installed?
Hi,
yes, when you want to use full LNM Navigraph dataset and not only the reduced sim data. The difference between the sim data and the full LNM Navigraph data is simple the included content and more or less complete and correct content. The freeware FAA data are nice but includes only the US airspace - so you will not see a complete worldwide dataset for the rest of the world because we know all now, that the NavBlue data are not so complete as everybody thought (in my eyes it´s a bunch against a real-world navdata provider, when someone must add freeware data to their database - but anyway).
Also, you can´t really use the flightplanner in LNM with the sim data only, because as an exmple there are no airway-directions existing, no minimas, nothing … yes, you can plan a flight, but that has nothing todo with the reality than. There are a lot more reasons and limitations, why you should use the fully LNM dataset - the sim dataset is very basic and most of the parts are still from the FSX times.
But in general, no you don´t need the fully LNM Navigraph dataset (= via the FMS Data Manager), but you loose quality in the LNM application. Thats fact …
Hope that helps,
Richard
