Thoughts ??
So they will offer a mechanism for replacing the sim navdata as well, like Navigraph does?
I use Navigraph only for the AIRAC data and pay that smaller non-chart subscription.
It appears this competitor is planning on providing AIRAC, charts, and chart integration for the cost of just a Navigraph navdata subscription? (At least initially until the inevitable price increases.)
Looks like they are using LIDO charts which Navigraph use to use before switching to Jeppesen.
Be interesting to see how this plays out. Navigraph has packed a ton of user requested features into their products in the last year.
yeah , i find it really hard to compete against navigraph
but in the end competition is always good.
I am happy to finally see competition. NaviGraph is quite expensive for a casual simmer, ovet 100€/yr! They are a money making machine, I guess. I hope they will integrate with sim add-ons like NaviGraph, but I doubt that. We do not know agreements with Navigraph, at worst case they may require exclusive source of maps. Also, extra effort for integrating two different sources may be too much for most developers, unfortunately.
I prefer Jeppesen charts as they are identical to real ones. Many airlines in Europe/UK however tend to use Lido charts so I might consider that at some point. My current navigraph subscription goes till November so for now at least for me no change.
MS24 will come in November and will also bring its flight planner, so we will be able to choose from more options…
and I welcome aviaplanner, because for me it is the ideal price for weekend flying ![]()
Competition is always a plus for us flight simmers. I will definitely take advantage of the free trial period.
MSFS 2024 comes with charts, so I’m not sure how much of a market there will be for a budget charts option.
Navigraph may not be cheap but they are investing a lot of money building fantastic software which has major new improvements seemingly every month, and often with new data for no extra charge. eg. The weather features in the charts app now are amazing.

Navigraph has a big thing going for it and that’s SimBrief.
Wow, ı had missed that info. That’s big!
So we will have charts when we get the game itself?
At 49 minutes. https://www.youtube.com/live/a6riRXgRsCU
“But of course 2024 is just a game with nothing for serious flight simmers.” ??!
Yes, I’m not serious simmers. That’s why 10 for navigraph is useless for me… but 3 or free option in MS24 is great for me, because I would like to learn how to use charts… I welcome this possibility
Other flight simulators are lagging behind. It seems to me that after the release of MSFS 2024 they will be light-years behind.
Has anyone here had any experience with Aviaplanner? If so, how do you rate it compared to Navigraph?
I would also be interested, it would be great if someone already has a review video
…and wont it be fun watching the shortcomings, real or perceived, explored in depth on these very forums? ![]()
I similarly welcome the competition, as that will always drive innovation.
That said, It will be tough to beat Navigraph, as they are feature-packed and constantly adding more, and have great interaction IMO with users on their discord and on this forum.
For those of us who fly GA I think Navigraph (Jeppesen charts) is still going to be worth it. LIDO charts aren’t a good alternative.
