I use WiredXDisplay to make my Android tablet into a second monitor. There are a number of different software packages out there for both Android and Apple.
The ones that work over USB will give you better refresh rates. The ones that work over WiFi can be more convenient in some situations.
I chose WiredXDisplay because its Android compatible and had a good refresh rate over USB and was not interested in a WiFi connection.
Then you can pop out the VFR map to the second display.
FYI this can impact frame rate. Also there is a bug where if you have a popped out window and are using something like GeForce Experience to track frame rate it will show double what the actual frame rate through the developer mode frame rate tool will.
