I have not used Simbrief or Navigraph yet.
Why not just Navigraph to create the flight plan instead? I have seen real-life pilots on YouTube use nothing but Navigraph. Does Simbrief have an advantage?

Mostly habit. I like how you can store the aircraft you frequently use for quick loading into the flight plan. I also like the actual âplanâ that is produced with flight level info, fuel etc. Definitely not necessary, but always how Iâve done it.
We were given a Amazon Fire 7 as gift on some presentation thing, can I use that as a tablet, and if so. Any ideas on how to get it to work? Wonder can I hook it up through the hub and see if I can see it? Ideas would be helpful please. And once new Joystick and throttle quadrant get here, I most likely will try the Navigraph for a month and see if it works for me. By then Sim might be in better shape as well. I will check back later, thinking of planning flight.
@MeridianSquid71, I donât think the Fire tablet will work. I believe the tablet app is only available for Android and iOS tablets. Nevertheless, Navigraph is awesome for flight planning and the moving map feature. For the money, it canât be beat.
Yep my luck, aint got clue on the fire7, donât use it, keep it charged, but would rather read real book or on PC screen 17". Thinking of trying to format it, so personal information is gone, and donate it to local thrift store.
Going to maybe get larger monitor, if I do will relegate this one to all those little windows I want to see and use but are in way of flying plane, etc. This is long term upgrade process as Honeycomb wonât have Yoke until March 2021, Throttle Quadrant wont ship till 12-23-2020, aint got clue when Virpil JS and base/bracket will process/ship.
Cannot get real serious on doing much until I got stuff which works.
@benzo8uk,
You are correct in that I trust the world screen too much. Why should I not trust it. It should match the MCDU or whatever nav system is being used. However, I have learned that to load in my flight plan the X-Plane way is the best way. Use the world screen only to select my parking spot and departure airport, and load in my flight plan once in the cockpit. Yesterday, I used Navigraph to create my flight plan from KJAN to KATL using a true, IRL, airline flight plan: KJAN.16R MEI DUUCK ORRKK.GNDLF2 (ORRKK MORDR RAETH NZGUL SMAWG GNDLF HALER SHULR JNGLE QUBIT) ILS9R.ANDIY (ANDIY DFINS GGUYY EEASY BURNY) KATL.9R, downloaded the plan via SimBrief (so I can get a complete flight information package) into MSFS. I launched the game and on the world screen I selected KJAN and gate 5 as my departure point and hit FLY NOW. Once in the cockpit, I loaded my flight plan into the MCDU and it loaded perfectly, even after selecting my RNAV departure from KJAN (which there isnât any IRL) and ILS9R arrival via ANDIY transition. It worked perfectly. I will create a complete video tutorial for preparing an ICAO flight plan and post it on my YouTube channel. So @benzo8uk, thank you for showing me the error in my ways. I shouldâve known that the X-Plane method would work. Itâs just too bad that Micrasobo hasnât fixed the airports with missing runways yet. RKSI is missing runway 16/34 for over a month now. I submitted a Zendesk ticket about this back on 18 October.
Regardless, DO NOT use the World Screen to load your flight plan. Get into the cockpit, and then load your flight utilizing your aircraftâs Navigational system. I believe this method to be 100% accurate. I will do more testing and later this week I will create a video tutorial and post it on YouTube if this continues to work properly.
Yes, please upload video! The MFC is a mystery to many people, and of course, no manuals or instructions were provided, instead of depending on videos on YouTube to fill gap. You can download the 787 Manual from Quality Wings, bud I have not read it yet, so donât know how in depth in the MFC it is. A check sheet of steps to take, i.e., 1, 2, 3, would be immensely helpful. Some day, maybe once I know it, will try that. I did create large FP using world map, with gate, SID, Flight Plan, Arrival STAR and ILS runway, and saved it into system, not sure it will be ale to pull out of system. I started making notes on FAA flight plan form since I cannot print my flight plan nor print the log book of the flight plan.
When I create the video, I will show all of the steps I use and explain why I use them. I will also show a couple of extra things Iâve made to help with the flight planning in the cockpit. I will work on a checklist of sorts as well, so I donât leave anything else. And again, Iâve got to thank @benzo8uk for teaching this old dog a new trick.
Thanks for doing it. I still find myself somewhat challenged on using the routing in the TBM930 and in general. I have Navigraph and use it for airport info, taxing and en route terrain visibility, etc.

Nice! Please leave a message in this thread when youâre done. Would appreciate your tutorial very much.
DavidWS10 - Thank you for your service, I was in as well.
I would have responded to the Navigraph survey but itâs bugged and just loops around one of the questions. Not a good advert for their services.
Took about 10 minutes, and never had problem. Although, and no expert here about it, seemed to me pushing for you to use pay sites for stuff. However, I tried to answer as honestly as possible, and told the survey exactly why I donât do this or that or get this or that add on. And I mentioned the marginality of this sim at present also noting itâ better than when released. And have stated prior posts in other threads, wonât buy anything aftermarket which goes into community folder till this is way more stable than now. Sure things I want, but can wait, anyway, spent too much money this year on new flight controls, PC, and budget is just shot till next year. Almost 4K, new throttle quadrant, PC, New Virpil base, grip and bracket. And I am thinking I might want their pedals, if I can swing it.
Charts for flight swimming is a must have.
Navigraph gives you every month mee airac, you have a sophisticated program, and if your ATC gives you other appr you can easily just go to the list and click it. Unless chart fox. Their charts data is just outdated most of the times wonât overlap with what I have in FMC and on vatsim itâs just a no go because ground controller is going to tell you take runway 11 but then you realize that your charts are from 2010. Thatâs why prefer navigraph
Yep, bit the bullet and signed up for navigraph. Mostly for XPlane, but will work here too. Like the option to create flight and then save for sim Iâm flying in.
If not required to be a customer why is the OP being requested and why not reply, who is asking?
Thank you for your reply I posted a response earlier that you have answered.
