Need help with Logitech flight radio

I have just got this radio panel but I am having issues getting it to work, i downloaded the MSFS plugin from Logitech which is supposed to fix any issues it still didn’t work, i turned my computer off, turned it on and tried again and it worked so i thought job done, but now it wont work again, it is strange because i keep hearing a noise which my pc makes when something has been disconnected from a USB port that has only started happening since i plugged in the radio panel (I am using a external USB hub) that seems to happen when I am loading the sim , i checked my devices and it says they are working properly. strangely I was pressing the switch the turn the USB port that the radio panel is plugged into on and off and it was having some affect on my honeycomb throttles so wondering if there is some kind of binding thing going on, I don’t really get into the technical stuff so don’t know if that’s a possibility?
I am not even sure if the plug in properly installed as I saw a green progress bar but it just stopped before getting to the end and said finish.
Has anyone else had similar issues and did you find a way to fix it?
It is annoying that I got it working once so i know that the product itself does work.

I have figured it out, i will leave this hear though just as it might be helpful to anyone else, I did not realise I had to launch the plug in each time I load the sim, just as I do with the AFC bridge to get the Honeycomb bravo throttle to light up.
I do feel a bit of an idiot now!

I don’t, install it once and the panel (3 in my case) work each time without doing anything else.

Is your USB hub powered (mine is), I believe it can make a difference?

Maybe also check your using a USB 2 rather than 3 port on the computer.

It is supposed to launch on its own (and it does even without a powered USB hub). However, there is a disclaimer on their website to launch it manually if it does not start on its own.

If it isn’t, you could always just toss it in the startup menu so it launches when PC boots.

Been using the Radio Panel for quite some time, and one thing to keep in mind is that when the SIM crashes, you have to go to the “task manager” and end the logitech FS process, otherwise you will not be able to restart the SIM.

The Logitech flight panels are a great addition to the sim. Just be warned though that they are the source of a lot of CTD for people. Mine ran fine for a while after SU5 but last week my sim started CTD at the main menu repeatedly. I uninstalled the flight panel drivers and it cured the problem. I’ve reinstalled the drivers and got my panels working again and touch wood my sim is ok so far.

As far as I can see the drivers haven’t been updated since late last year. I really hope Logitech fix them.

No issues here however mine were a new install after SU5 launched.

Only issues I’ve had are power draw related. The LCDs take quite a bit and I had to get an externally powered USB hub as the sim would pause / freeze as it would disconnect and reconnect.

After installing the hub all issues went away.

Thanks, seems for me i do have to launch the plug in each time for them to work but I that’s not really much hassle, i might look into getting an external powered USB hub, 'I’m not really that clued up on technical stuff and to be honest I didn’t know there was more than one type of USB hub, the one I am using just plugs into the PC.
I am getting faster at changing the frequency now so can usually do it it before ATC starts asking me to respond! and I have figured how to change my transponder now as that was causing me some confusion!

One of the things I recommend people do, is to disable the power saving features on ALL your USB devices. In case you don’t know how, you need to go to the device manager to do it. Doing that it fixed my USB’s disconnects/reconnects issues. Most of the “green” features in Windows have always cause problems with many things and it is best to disable them.

I have done that, as it happens it seems to only allow me the option to manage the power setting on my USB hub so I have done that, not sure it has made a difference, I am still hearing the noise that it makes when a USB device has been disconnected, even though in device manager it is still showing everything is connected and working properly.

It all seems to be working fine now, as long as I launch that plug in. there is just one thing now that is confusing me, the switch for com 1 and com 2, does that actually have a purpose? i notice that in the ATC window it has com 1 and com 2, it has the ATIS frequency in com 2, so i set my com 2 to that frequency, assuming that when i then selected com 2 it would automatically give the information but it doesn’t seem to do that, instead i have to put the ATIS frequency as my standby on com 1 and then when I switch that to active it reads out the ATIS info, probably just me being a plank and doing something wrong!

That is how it works,

You cannot (to my knowledge) tune the “active radio”. Only the standby and then switch it to active.

i understand that but i don’t get why when i have my com 1 set to the tower or ground frequency but then set the com 2 frequency for ATIS info shouldn’t it automatically switch to that when I turn the knob to select com 2?

It may be because I am only using the top radio, i am going to try leaving that set to com 1 and using the bottom one set to com 2 and see if that makes a difference

Sorry,

Yes, set top radio to COM1 and tune to tower / ground etc. Set bottom radio to COM2 and set it to ATTIS.

I believe there was a thread about even this not working properly for some aircraft such as the 152. Not sure if it has been fully resolved.

But only the active on COM 1 and 2 would ever be usable. Standby is there for east switchover / handoff.

Ah it may be the aircraft I am using, as it is actually the 152 I have been using for my trial flights, in which case I don’t think the problem has been resolved, so I will try with another aircraft to see eif that is the issue.
Thanks for your help.

Hi I am having the same issue but using a powered hub. Could anyone point me to where the driver app is to start before launching FS2020 as in just getting an argument error when trying to open the Logitech driver app.

Sounds like you may want to uninstall it (the logitech driver) and re-install it. You don’t need to manually run it, it will (when working properly) launch with the sim.

Get a copy of Axis and Ohs and your headaches will be a thing of the past. Brilliant with Logitech gear.
