Hi all, I’ve been wondering what are some settings that would make the inputs feel as close to real life as possible, I’m talking about the sensitivity settings in the options, sensitivity, reactivity, dead zones, extremity, etc, if anyone knows how to fine tune it to feel as realistic as possible I’ll be very glad ![]()
For XBOX/PS4 controller I use config below. It’s more try and error to fine tune, but start with Reactivity.
I’m using a stick so I think it won’t be that much of a help ![]()
Anyone? ![]()
It is nonsense, but it seems like the sensitivity settings are having to be changed for to many of the aircraft on an individual basis. It has taken many hours to finally find a good combination for the Baron that seems to work as well for Cub, Bonanza. Not for the CJ4 or the 350. This is really bush.
Your best bet is to duplicate the controller settings you use, label each duplicate for each aircraft group and then set the required sensitivities on each.
You do have to remember to choose the correct controller when you change aircraft, but as you can do this even when in flight it’s not too much of a problem.
I mean sure, but can anyone actually tell me what settings to use? ![]()
It seems that most all controllers are calibrated differently so I don’t think here is a definitive combo of settings that can be passed on. Somewhere on the forum/net, someone suggested going to Assistance, click everything on, go for a flight, then try tweaking the
Settings. It did seem to help but the tweaking process is all trial and error plus very time consuming, not to mention frustrating. I flew the CH4 last night and set YD and 1/2 Bank to on and this was very helpful to reduce the Dutch roll (oscillating). ILS/nav took me right to dead center of the runway and pretty much landed itself - controlling throttle manually and a slight tweak back on control while rounding out. Now to see if it replicates. Looking for experiences on this forum and the net has been helpful in terms of what to try.
My Logitech Attack 3 controller is still too sensitive with all sensitivities turn down and reactivitiy turned down to minimum
For my CH yoke, these settings seem to be working for me on cub,Baron,Cj4, possibly beech 350 and bonanza. Aileron setting was the most critical (left hand box)
From top down in LH box. (Ailerons)
Sens + 50
Sens- 50
Dead zone 0
Neutral 0
Extreme dead 40
Reactivity 80
all other boxes at 0 except dead zone @ 4 in each box
Maybe this will help get you started
Thanks I’ll definitely check it out
Tried these settings now and I guess they feel better, sadly I’m not really aware about how it should be in real life so more suggestions are welcome ![]()
Also, these settings are for the ailerons only, right?
Yes, the settings are only for ailerons. The Ch yoke has rudders mapped to the ailerons so I don’t use pedals. With a stick, this may not be the case so settings may have to be different for the rudder box. Also, I’m not using mods. The last update seems to have created problems re settings so hopefully another update will simplify the process. Which planes do you fly?
Comparing the sim to real life 152/172s is pretty sketchy - all of this sensitivity stuff was never a part of RL flying. It seems to be with the sims, it is about doing “whatever it takes” to get a plane flying and keep it from doing stupid things. It should feel like driving a late model car, regardless of which aircraft is used.
Right now, I’m happy if circuits can be replicated without fighting the yoke and if it will take off, follow a gps manually, and can be landed manually at destination with no problems. Even with these settings, doing a sudden movement with the yoke or doing a medium to steep bank is enough to set off a Dutch
Roll.
Interestingly, using nav/AP seems to go much better - except when releasing AP to land.
Sorry, I can’t be more helpful.
