Hi,
I have add-on software which uses Ctrl-Shift-N and Ctrl-Shift-Y to select options during a flight. I have managed to find and remove the default binding for C-S-N (Nav1 Swap), but cannot find the default binding for C-S-Y. Although the keypress is being passed through to the add-on software it also causes the display to jump to a view above and behind the aircraft tail - pressing it again reverts to the cockpit view.
Can anyone please tell me how to remove the default C-S-Y binding?
Seems like the Cntrl-Shift is not being detected by the add on and allowing the Y through to the sim which triggers the slew mode. I would first unbind Y from everything then see what else might use the Cntrl-Shift combination. Not sure this is worthwhile but maybe worth a try. Would appreciate knowing if you find a solution.
Unfortunately I don’t think that helps, as it’s not really an issue that the add-on allows Ctrl-Shift-Y through to the sim. From my point of view the problem is that it causes a view change in the sim that it should be possible to disable, but which cannot be identified - I don’t have the same problem with Ctrl-Shift-N, which is listed.
Type “external” into the filter box. Sounds like toggle external view (or camera?) Is being triggered.
If you don’t know, if the item in on screen hitting the key or button or axis will highlight the assignment. Might need to scroll the list while hitting that key combo if you get a lot of hits on that filter.
Thanks for the suggestion, but I had already tried using the filter/search feature to find the binding - nothing is shown for Ctrl-Shift-Y, which is quite frustrating.
I guess I’ll have to raise this as a bug to Asobo.
As NonstopOyster0 wrote above, your issue most likely seems to be the default binding for “slew mode”.
On my side, however, the default binding for Slew Mode was not Y, but SHIFT-Y.
So if you press C-S-Y, the sim recognizes S-Y and sets you behind the plane (for using slew action keys).
Please check for S-Y combination on your side. I was in the same situation. I removed that binding and set Slew Mode to another combination and then it was working for me without any further issues.
Thank you, the binding for Slew mode, just ‘Y’ in my case, was indeed the problem.
With MSFS running, and no add-on, C/S/Y caused the view to toggle between behind the tail and the cockpit; I removed the binding for Slew Mode and this no longer happens.
I don’t believe that pressing ‘Y’ with Ctrl and/or Shift should select this action, so will be logging a bug report.
Thanks again!
