Negligence or Incompetence by Logitech Regarding Saitek Switch Panels, Multi Switch Panel, & Instrument Panels

I have nearly $1,000 invested in Logitech Saitek Flight Switch Panel, Multi Panel, Radio Panel, and various Logitech Saitek Instrument Panels. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is by far the biggest, most important, and revolutionary launch in the history of flight simulation yet none of these Logitech Saitek flight simulation products work with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. Logitech hasn’t event updated any of the drivers for these devices in 2 years since September 2018. I have the devices plugged in to my PC correctly via USB, yet Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 doesn’t even recognize any of these Logitech Saitek peripherals listed above in the control settings section of MS Flight Simulator 2020. The devices do appear in my PC Device settings as being connected to my PC, but Microsoft Flight Simulator can’t see them at all, so I can’t even map the devices buttons and switches manually.

There are hundred of thousands of people like me who have each invested hundreds, if not thousands of dollars in these Logitech flight simulation products and they still continue to sell them, so it is absolutely inexcusable for Logitech to not continue to support and update the drivers for these flight simulation products. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 has been in development more than a year. Microsoft offered a public beta as well as early access to 3rd party developers so there were plenty of opportunities for Logitech to get all of their flight simulation products ready to work with MS Flight Simulator 2020 on day 1 of release. It is completely inexcusable that none of these Logitech flight simulation products work with MS Flight Simulator 2020. It’s inconceivable that Logitech software developers weren’t collaborating with Microsoft and vice versa during the pre-release beta period to ensure that all of their flight sim products worked on day 1 of release of MS Flight Simulator 2020.

Any ■■■■■ could see that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 was going to be the biggest launch in the history of flight simulation and its absolute insanity or complete incompetence for the Logitech flight simulation development team to have not been working closely with Microsoft prior to launch of FS2020. Even Honeycomb, a small start up that makes only one flight simulation product, a flight simulator yoke, was collaborating very closely with Microsoft prior to release of FS2020. How Logitech and Microsoft could totally drop the ball on all of these devices is completely inexcusable. Logitech probably sells more flight simulation hardware products than any other company, yet they haven’t updated the freakin drivers for these devices that I listed since September 2018. That’s absurd. Logitech will gladly take our money and they continue to sell all of these devices but it appears that they don’t have a single person working to keep them updated and compatible with latest flight simulation software.

Not to mention the fact that these devices don’t even work properly with x-plane, FSX, or PreparD. They work partially, but the LED screens don’t work because the drivers don’t communicate with Windows properly so Windows doesn’t provide enough power to the devices to light the LED screens. Myself and many others have had to download 3rd party software or manually edit the Windows registry in order to change the power management settings in Windows for these devices, so that the LED screens work properly. This has been an issues for years. How the heck can Logitech developers not realize this and release a fix in updated drivers is again completely inexcusable and complete incompetence or complete negligence of these products. Logitech makes millions of these products but they provide zero support. I will never purchase another Logitech product again in my lifetime. That’s a guarantee. They are thieves. They steal our money but don’t support the products they sell.

My Logitech Extreme 3D Pro was recognized and configured after I logged in. Maybe it’s the Saitek version that has an issue. Hope you figure it out.

I am in a similar position - very disappointed.

Yeah it seems like the logitech flight sticks, yoke, throttles, and rudders all work OK, but no one can get the Logitech Saitek Multi Panel, Switch Panel, Radio Panel, or Instrument Panel to be recognized by FS2020. I have the Logitech Saitek Yoke and Throttle Quadrant and the Saitek Rudder and they all worked Ok with FS2020 on day 1. But I can’t get any of my Logitech Saitek Panels to work. FS2020 doesn’t even recognize them as being connected, however they all appear as connect in Windows Settings Device list.

The only solution some people found is a 3rd party software that runs in the background, but I tried it and it made my FS2020 FPS to drop from around 50 to 60 FPS all the way down to just 10 or 15 FPS and caused FS2020 to crash every few minutes.

It’s gonna take these guys 6 month to assimilate all these quirks and complaints and get fixes for them. I guess we have to live with it for a while.

Same issue here - third party software is the only way to get them working, but using SimConnect causes a massive FPS drop.

Rumor has it this problem previously existed and had been fixed prior to release, so hopefully it won’t take long to fix the regression.

Same here, and for the time being I have just decided to give the panels a miss until Logitech and/or FS2020 proactively do something about these issues with Saitek Pro Flight panels.

Surely they know about the issue yet has anybody found any posts about if there is going to be an update or will this issue get prioritized? Surely there have been other Alpha 1+2 testers using these same panels and made some reports accordingly one would think?

Btw, I full agree and feel that your thread starting post is very much Warranted. I too had splashed out quite a bit of dosh on this gear and my jaw just dropped when I couldn’t get it to work when beta testing it. There are quite a few others using 3rd party solutions and reporting some lower FPS but are happy they get it to work but for me it only made my radio panel work and not my multipanel.

It is understandable that there is plenty for the FS2020 team to do and likely they are prioritizing the best they can but it would be great to hear some acknowledgement or confirmation that their is a ticket number for the issue and its movement forward is tracked so that simmers such as yourself and others do not need to be continually posting or guessing if there will ever be a full effective fix for the issue or a plan which can fully understood by its user base to remain patient. (which I am going to try for a while).

On the bright side I am happy that it is not just me or you that’s experiencing these issues which in some way can give comfort to knowing we are not alone in reaching out for solutions or answers to remedy such issues.

Same here, following with interest.
Unusable with the ThomasComputerSolution-FIM add-on

FS2020 needs a native driver.

Same here, Radio panel just flashing “00000”.

Something is needed either from logitech or FS2020.

Will follow this topic

Let’s try and keep these topics to the one thread folks…

Guys head over to the saitek panels thread under peripherals, it’s been there for a while, it’s the biggest thread in the entire forum devoted to the subject.

I would urge you all to see Lorbys posts towards the end, he is a third party dev who has the software using sim connect like everything else, he is giving us more options than any other provider to make these panels work.

Once asobo fix up simconnect these will work flawlessly, nothing else comes as close as Lorbys Axis and OHS, head over lads as that is where the discussion is

And please support Lorbys Axis and OHS as he is a member in the threads like we all are so the support long term, the additional desktop instruments etc in the software make things like spad only be an ounce what he is offering :+1::+1::blush::airplane::airplane::blush::+1::+1:

For Saitek panels use SpadNext.
Saitek choose not standard button joystick system but is own configuration.
It’s not Asobo and Microsoft job to resolve that.
Logitech is the new Saitek boss, write us !

Guys support our own, Lorbys Axis and Ohs is the way to go, plus Oliver is active in these forums he has removed the trial limit and also offer the desktop instrument panels as a part of his software offer:+1::+1:

Look at the saitek panels thread under peripherals

The same to me. I don´t know who but somebody have to resolve the issue!!!
Good afternoon everyone, I volunteered to be a tester for the fs2020 informing that I had the Saitek panels as well as the command, the pedals and the power quadrant. They asked me for my computer information but they never called me. Since it was reported by MS that Flight Simulator 2020 would be released, my concern was always that these peripherals would work. I don’t understand how they didn’t take it into account after doing a tremendous simulation program. I hope they find the solution as soon as possible. I made the mistake of buying the more expensive version of the MSFS2020. I hope I don’t regret it. I await solutions. Thank you very much.

Thank you, at least it makes me feel better that I am not the only one struggling; until I finally found this forum to understand that there is nothing to do until saitek idiots update all the drivers.

just like you, i spend a lot of money filling in the Flight Dashboard with all the gauges, and panels, none of which are being recognized.

100% agree to your post, same situation in my flight deck. Did you write to Logitech, a ny responses from them? I am very interessted in any solution aspects, cheers Daniel

The Logitech Flight yoke system APp for windows 10 64 bit lets you map all the buttons, but guess precise flap on a lever wouldn’t work. Didn’t see a flight sim 2020 profile for it. Tried setting the blue throttle to breaks and it was all way up or down so not sure what should be there. Defaulted it back.

In case anyoen needs the link to the software for windows 10 the link is here (saitek site).

Saitek Official Yoke/Throttle System Software.

I need better breaking when I land. I can trigger speed flaps but what opens the engines to decelerate on the Airbus? What about the 747? I can remap, but basically my blue and red throttle does nothing. FLaps, Gear up down, and wing air brakes are defaulted to the throttle buttons.

THe up button under red is not mapped at all.

How do I apply flaps and open the engine to decelerate? Right now I land myself and once i glide in I hit Co pilot to stop plane.

Humm. Well there goes buyign the others. But on a video they showed the saitek yoke throttle, but for the other parts they used another brand plugged into the saitek that worked (the dials ect).

Now Im debated buyign the other brand THrottle/Yoke set up.

I dont want the elevation display as I display it off to another monitor or app. but would like other nobs to control lights, APU, engine start. Its a pain to keyboard short cut those or go cokpit mode and look up.

THe only other work around I see. Is the Touch buttons pad that has a lot of buttons you cna map in soft as keyboard commands. Buttons can be removed added, and mapped. so you can change layout of buttons on a square button pad system thats flat and can be slanted.

MAppable pad, pressure pads ect made by this group, look at similiar

Well… MS did release a list of compatible addons before release, so we can only blame ourselves if we start complaining - I too have a few logitech peripherals that don’t work, yet. I too am a grumbler, but there will be compatibility updates eventually.

As for the sim instrument p[anels - there is still a lot to do there too. I wonder if reality XP have got something up their sleeves?

MSFS 2020 is barely a week out of the box… We waited years, so a few more days or weeks?

Just wanted to reiterate that the answer has been given, but seems to have been ignored by everyone posting afterwards.

SPAD.neXt is the answer for now, it has support for the new sim, and will restore your Saitek panel functionality. Although due to a bug in Simconnect it causes stuttering, and frame rate loss, while running, as does some other external clients like VATSim.

Some people have had luck with running SPAD before the sim, though. YMMV.

Folks, you all need to check the biggest forum thread on the matter its under Peripherals called Saitek Flight Panels, Lorby’s Axis and Ohs is the best plus Oliver the developer is a active part of these forums, better priced too!!
