So, reinstall complete, all Content Manager content too because without that the training missions and challenges are all greyed out, and all now seems well. Pilot’s log and all settings appear to have been restored automatically, presumably from the cloud.
Still have no idea what caused the initial issue but I guess we just have to wait and see how things now go from here.
