Thanks. This is what I thought but it’s nice to have it confirmed. I assume that we can now get rid of the redundant Nvidia Control Panel in the same way we got rid of floppy disks?
That is what nvidia are already doing. They are gradually moving functions from it to the nvidia app, so people that don’t like the app are going to have to get used to it.
How long this will take is unknown at this time.
It has always disappeared when you reduce the distance, I still get terrible ghosting/ trailing on sharp objects and aircraft when I pass them, I honest don’t understand all the excitement
Still on a 3080ti card. Will try your procedure
I’m using the OpenXR Toolkit.
I don’t know if it works with any VR headset.
After seeing the improvement in 2D, i also thought it would be so good in VR with profile K but unfortunately i am going back to TAA because of terrible ghosting/blur on glass cockpits.
Is rolling back to preset J as easy as just selecting it in Nvidia Inspector, or do I need to also roll back the gpu driver?
So nvidia app and dlss dont work for older 30 serie cards in the menu. Its grayed out.
Changing manually with copying the dlss files and customsetttngsnames file to profile inspector.
What profile do i need? J or k?
Thanks
I have a 30 series and K is good for some things, but has terrific amounts of shadowing outside the aircraft. Inside in the cockpit it’s really good though. I’d be interested in trying J if I knew how to change it.
profile inspector
DLSS 4 in performance mode and preset K on my quest 3 and 4080 is a game changer!
How can I turn “autoexposure” (shown in DLSS indicator) to OFF in MSFS2020? In MSFS2024 it is already OFF.
Thank you in advance.
Keep in mind that using DLSS Tweaks may potentially be the cause of CTD in MSFS 2024.
Thanks all! I do not use/enjoy MSFS 2024, but fiddeling around with it until frustration kills my optimism.
MSFS2020 is still more satisfying for me in VR…
Anybody having an issue where your wallpaper turns black after either downloading NVIDIA app or using profile inspector?
Nope. Nvidia Hotfix 572.24 + Nvidia app installed.
Thanks, now have an unrelated question…What graphics settings are VR users going with if you’re not using the OXTK? It looks so much hazier than 2020 and visually quite a bit worse if OXTK is disabled.
For me (with msfs2020/rtx4090) with my QPro and Q3 headsets I found that increasing the pixel density in ODT to 1.3x and then using dlss/balanced, sharpened up everything, esp. cockpit clarity. I believe that this basically increases the upscaling limits.
Since then, I’ve never seen the need to use OpenXR Toolkit. Many still like it so it’s up to you to use whatever works best imho.
Still using oxrk with 2024 in vr. Just to measure resl fps, workload, color adjustmenr and the fov mask. Still works good and i see no downsides or performance gains when disableing
