FSFlyingSchool
!) Can I try this with my Cessna Longitude (Or any aircraft in the Premium/ DELUXE package)?
2) Can I set up and try RNAV approaches? OR ILS only?
Best Regards
@TutoredDig86352 yes you can use it with any aircraft.
It supports the approaches in the diagram in my first post. You can also pick random airports/runways using a set of your own filters.
Just wanted to ask what people would like to see added to the add-on?
- Set local weather?
- More filters for random approaches?
Seems you could use the appropriate âintersect finalâ setup the just activate your approach and let the autopilot get you situated.
A feature to select âX miles from initial approach fix on heading XXXâ
@HeliBrewer With âinitial approach fixâ coming from fixed FS2020 data or a personal sub to something like Navigraph?
Out of curiosity, is there any flexibility for setting initial aircraft state? Such as, Gear up, Flaps at approach setting, heading mode, ALT hold at 3,000â, APR armed, etc.
That way when you start you arenât instantly having to get everything configured and setup for whatever it is you are practicing (such as doing an autopilot coupled ILS approach, etc).
If itâs pulled from FS I think navigraph would be covered
Moderators - could this be moved to the utilities section please?
Threadâs been moved
Yes! Good suggestion.
I think this would be a great addition.
Checking to see if this post was replied to/addressed by the developer.
I had this in mind when thinking about setting up/practicing ILS approaches using the CJ4 Working Title mod. So that the aircraft would be in a configured state when I release it off of pause. Things happen fast in the jet
I downloaded the demo today but havenât had a chance to try it out yet. Unfortunately, I may not get to try it out for a day or two so I thought I would pose these questions.
Hi JuiceBox7535:
FS Instant Approach does not have these features but thanks for taking the time to suggest them - this is certainly something that we can look into adding to FS Instant Approach! Both it and FSFlyingSchool are under constant development - thatâs been our mode for the past 15 years.
Hi PopsMcDaddyo:
These features are something that we can look into adding to FS Instant Approach - thanks for your interest - have a great weekend of flights!
Had a quick thought!
Would anyone find it useful to be able to quickly move the aircraft to the selected runway?
So rather than FSIA setting up an approach to say 10L at KORD, instead it sets up the aircraft on the ground on 10L at KORD.
FS Instant Approach is much faster than FS2020âs built in airport selector, so this could be handy to quickly move around the world!
Let us know?
Bought it today since there was a special offer.
Thatâs how an approach to Munich airport (EDDM) looks like.
Well, 5000 feet MSL⊠can be SOOOOO LOOOONGâŠ
And according to the altimeter (see cockpit) itâs even only 1200 feet (which is amazing since the plane should be stuck in the ground as Munich airport is at 1464ftâŠ)!
Even when not entering any altitude (since itâs not required), you end up flying a space shuttle in outer spaceâŠ
Kind of a⊠steep approach to an airport just 14 nm away, isnât it?
Same with other airports (at least in my region).
@SeesternClown0 ouch!
Thereâs definitely something crazy going on there! Will take a look when Iâm back at my desk tomorrow
Hi SeesternClown0:
Iâve replied in detail to your email which was sent directly to us and asked if you can please answer some questions to help us get you up and flying as soon as we can. The main problem is that, as we can see from your screenshot, FS Instant Approach has somehow been told that the airport has an elevation of 147,637 feet above Mean Sea Level. I find this unlikely. This is clearly incorrect and is the root of the problem.
I look forward to your email - thanks for reporting this so we can help!
I downloaded the demo version, and on both KORD and KGRB, that happens too, above 60, 70,000 feet.
