New hard drive/Fresh install?

So my 3tb HDD with bad sectors is still accessable, so I was wondering if I can just pull my MSFS users folder over to my new C drive a 2tb SSD or do a fresh install. I hope I don’t have an issue reinstalling since my digital receipt is likely on the bad drive. My SSD has a fresh windows 10 install as well.

If it works like other game client (such as steam, uplay, origins, etc) you can move around install files and just have to tell the client where the folder is. It should check for file integrity and download missing files.
What platform did you buy MSFS on?

I recently moved all my FS files between 2 PCs and it was as simple as moving everything in the user/roaming directory over to the new one.

If you got it through steam, you will need to move over your Steamapps/common directory too.

All in all, surprisingly stress-free.

I downloaded it directly from the Microsoft store.

I’m guessing there is an option somewhere in the Microsoft store client to move the install folders, though I’ve never used it so I don’t know where that might be (for most clients it is in the software parameters, then “folders” tab)
