The best would be to restore the previous system entirely and roll this new system out when it’s ready.
Many people are attempting to judge the new weather while it’s currently in a broken state. The fact of the matter is that none of us truly knows how it’s supposed to operate so any conversation about how “METAR implementation is terrible”, “the transitions are terrible”, or “it should be dropped entirely” etc etc … is assuming what we have now is how it’s even intended to work in the first place.
