I’ve rolled back to 466.11 - was getting driver crashes with anything after that one. Not tried 466.63 yet though

Hi
i have a valve index
VR version beta 1.17.14
and
RTX 2080 Driver 466.63
in VR 4x CTD
no more VR function.

No difference performance wise and had no issue’s with latest driver.

Once again another driver that crashes NVidia control panel when you try to configure NVidia Surround, sigh. Well you have to try, don’t you.

Rolled back to good old 457.30 and all is perfect again.

I would say I am looking forward to proper multi monitor support but I suspect that may open another can of worms.

After updating to the new drivers it set my audio to Nvidia by default and struggled to get my sound back - when I tried the Sim I got a System Crash for DPC Watchdog or something - the sim would freeze and my whole system would reboot. So I rolled the drivers back and was better, but all of the sudden kept getting those DPC errors. I wound up having to update SSD firmware, and SATA drivers as well - not sure if this NVIDIAS fault - but it all fell apart after the drivers updated so I blamed them. Guess now that I updated those others things I’m nervous about trying the updated drivers again.

At this point I just ignore new drivers and enjoy ole faithful 457.30 performance

Same for me - poor performance, went back to 461.40 (from January) and the difference was astounding.

edit: that’s in VR with Valve Index

Rolled back to 457.30 was getting lower fps with the new driver and lots of stuttering the difference is very noticeable.

Just like to add - I’ve seen many people mentioning having to update to the latest nVidia driver in order to enable DLSS (not availablein FS2020 yet - but let’s hope!), but that isn’t necessary at all.

At first I was not happy at all, because as mentioned I went back to 461.40 for this sim, but I wanted to use DLSS for No Man’s Sky in VR, which is my main non-flying game and I really didn’t want to have to choose which one to have worse performance on.

Turns out DLSS capable drivers have been out for ages - it just wasn’t implemented in games. So don’t worry - you don’t have to choose one or the other.
