I’ve tried rtss, just seemed to make things a bit worse, i may revisit this though
Strange, everyone I’ve heard talk about it has had a good experience with it.
and now today, i get 0xc0000409 the game has crashed msfs on launching, my troubles continue lol, seems to be a crash with ucrtbase.dll, no idea why, last eve it ran ok, though i had to repair it, it got mixed up after rebooting into the other partition i think, uninstalled/reinstalled this am same difference. (this error turned out to be cured by installing the latest nvidia driver from oct 1st, previous sept suddenly was broke or broke msfs somehow tho worked last eve or it was me tinkering with previous settings and the reinstall cleared that)
Tried client 1.33x again, with and without smart smoothing and with locking at 45 fps… locking with smart smoothing on gave the better image, but it still was blurry ground.
I tried without and just straight as is at first, in the 50s on a bare test install and even the slightest motion lead to blurry ghosted ground textures, pretty awful. I know when i had my aero before smoothing there, it used to be somewhat decent in the same scenario, unless recent issues with the headset are actually causing this, unsure.
For me its back to at least 1.13 with smoothing on.
On my headset issues (freezing, needing full restarts etc), support has been very slow to respond and my warranty is nearly out, super frustrated
EDIT: 1.15 client has eye tracking vs 1.14, 1.15 has artifacts with smoothing on, however, steamvr mode there are none and very few stutters, possible alternative winner for now vs the old glory 1.13 native, both locked in at 45 without using a locking fps mechanism
I feel your pain mate…I go through many phases and adjusted a couple of things tonight.
But I still on the ground and at about 1500ft shimmering scenery.
I also had a stutter on my latest and greatest Windows 11 with a 4090 GPU and all the bells and whistles. My solution came when I tried to use my system on the day msfs released 2024. I messed around a bit and my sim and was able to getting rid of the stutter by not using it during high traffic . I realize this is not a good solution but my problem was a slow internet due to various reasons.
Another setting I found works well is the rolling cache which should bd disabled. Rolling cache can be turned off…
HOW TO DELETE THE ROLLING CACHE
- Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator.
- Go to Options > General.
- Go to Data.
- Scroll to the bottom and go to Delete Rolling Cache File. Click on Delete.
- Confirm your choice by selecting OK.
Hope this helps!
Not for FS2024 though I think.
It needs a cache now so unless there is a hidden one, I think we need even BIGGER cache now.
Of course there is no official information and advice on this — as there was never an official explanation of exactly WHAT is actually stored and retrieved from the RC in 2020.
I still think it’s unadvisable to turn it off in FS2024 now?
My stutters are gone in 2024 but only with dlss on auto
