If it isn’t connected to the taxiway network, you should be getting an error when you try to compile the scenery. I did KCVG and updated all the cargo parking a while back. ADE is not needed to fix the issues with default airports, but you need a bgl to xml converter and also need something to read the fs-base airport files. That way you aren’t creating an airport from scratch, rather just fixing the existing one. Also issue with ADE is that once you try and add textures/paint to your scenery, it will basically mash everything together on layer 0 and then you have to adjust the priorities each time. I would suggest using ADE for only airline code changes (even that can be done editing the xml airport file), and doing everything else in the sim SDK.
