Hi Guys, I have just purchased a new PC and now I can’t figure out how to get FS running. I installed it on my old PC using the disks. I have logged into my library and I saw the game there and thought, Great I can download it. I did that but it only D/L about 175GB, it runs but then asks me to insert the gameplay disk. Is there a way of doing it or do I have to buy an external DVD player. Thanks for any help you can give.
For the retail disc version of MSFS, disc 1 does need to be inserted just for the authentication check.
As a workaround, you could create an ISO file and mount it to a virtual drive if you could “gain access” to a DVD drive.

When I built my computer I connected an old internal optical SATA drive I scavenged from a junked computer at work.
I pulled the dvd drive from my old one and put it in an enclosure, so now it connects with a USB cable.
You could just buy and external DVD drive…it’s old tech now and they sell for like 20 bucks.
Agreed. I chose the free option. I haven’t needed a DVD drive since I built the computer. If I had bought the Disc version of the sim, then yeah, I would have bought an external DVD player, for sure.
