Hi all,
Just got my new PC up and running, trying to install FS and its playing hardball…
The first stage of install from the x-box app went fine, i told what drive to use and away it went.
Upon starting the main install, its at step 1 of 414, oB/97.70GiB and doing nothing at all. Task manager says its doing nothing as well.
Any tips? I’m stuck now…
PC specs
Intel 12900, GTX3080Ti, 32Gb ram
first relax and be patient, the install can be nightmare for some
the game downloads a file then extracts it alternating back and forth so … you may not see it downloading for long periods - that does not mean its stopped (some files may take 30+ mins for each step so up to an hour total, half of which may like like nothing is happening)
still if it stops for say an hour or more its hung up, restart the game and maybe even the pc to continue
i suggest to make sure windows itself is fully update
make sure the Microsoft Store app is fully updated (this installs/updates the ‘gaming services’ ms uses)
Then start the install again

I have its downloading now, it was the windows user account, i was not logged in as a local user, found the answer on youtube 
Well, so far, i’m amazed - I have boats on the Thames, traffic on the roads, planes in the airports, none of this was there on the x-box-x 
Now i just have to find out why my VF1 quadrant bummed-out after a reboot and fix the screen-shot controls
my internet is so slow, the file size is humongous. i want to download this game on microsoft game pass, but instead getting a nice featured download manager, you just get to download the front page. I am forced to download using installation manager which doesn’t have any pause feature. Every time i download several gb, and need to shut down my computer, i have to redownload the file from 0… is there any way to download this gam on a package that can be handled on general browser, so i can paused the download ?, please, really need some help here…
no, for security reasons there is no way to dl this game thru a direct download, it must be downloaded thru the game installer which in turn is only available from the ms store or steam
you can purchase (or could originally) a cd version (europe? only i think) but …
that would only install the base game that likely has been mostly updated anyway, meaning im not sure how much you would actually save because you would install then have to update most of the game
This is an ‘online streaming’ game, while lots of people have trouble installing it does take a long time, i might suspect if you can not manage to get it installed it probably would have issue running on that isp - it takes a fair bit of data transfer speed to even load in to the game
i have re installed 3 times since launch (i prepurchased)
it has always taken me as much as 8 hours, i have the cheapest basic cable internet available in my area (no giga w/e) - if your trying to download on less or thru 4-5G wifi you you may have problems
for me ive never had any problem, it just takes a long time to install - luckily thats something i dont have to do very often
