I noticed on this weeks feedback snapshot that beside “dreadful performance” it said there was to be an update on July 27th to solve this. What do you think will be included in this update?
I am hoping it just isn’t the introduction of DX12 on pc as that would be awfully disappointing.
That being said hopefully after this update people wont need to own a NASA pc in order to be able to get a stable 30fps at least.
There are already plenty of posts about it..
Regards
Steve
There is no answer to your question that won’t be based on an individual’s speculation. Obviously no one knows what will be included and even after the release of such update, we will be lucky to receive any detailed notes on the changes made given past patch notes provide little to no insight.
What one considers to be a “NASA PC” is a subjective - what are your PC specs?
The question I was asking was an open offer for anyone to come forward and speculate what they thought might be included in the update. There was no direct question asked.
In regards to patch notes I find the ones that have already been provided for previous updates conclusive and straight to the point. They contain everything any simmer or gamer would need to know about the update.
My pc specs aren’t really of concern to this question. By NASA pc I’m implying that one must have a pc that has extreme hardware in it to achieve a good frame rate. I myself know people that are running extremely high end setups and are struggling to achieve 30fps.
Looking at the FAQ, the Steam version owners won’t get the benefit of automatically owning the Xbox version. I wish Asobo/Microsoft would have made that clear BEFORE I purchased mine from Steam. Lame.
Yes DX12 on pc would be awfully disappointing ![]()
There is already plenty of speculation in other threads about what will come besides DX12. We know there are plenty of optimisations for xbox coming to PC so people speculate performance increase by some good margin. I d expect 20 to 30% is reasonable, but some people hope for 200% which is impossible in my opinion.
hoping it just isn’t the introduction of DX12 on pc as that would be awfully disappointing.
If you would have quoted the entire thing I didn’t say anything about how it would be a disappointing thing to have. This is in reference to how only getting DX12 and nothing else would be underwhelming.
I would hope for a 50% at least but if we are being realistic about it I would say you are probably right. 200% does seem a bit drastic.
Why that??
I think even 50% is wishful thinking; but i will be glad to be proven wrong.
They are being sarcastic
40% less tree distance incoming
I have a decent high end pc 10700KF 3080
32 GB ram. I have good fps average 60 fps.
Something must be wrong with your pc?
I thought it was only me having ■■■■-poor-performance since the last update. I’m not rockin the “NASA Computer”, but I have a i9-9900K @ 4.3, a 2080ti, and 128 on the RAM. I was getting excellent performance in VR, all settings on Ultra prior to that last update. No idea what happened, but now it is a major stutter-fest.
Hoping to see a nice improvement with the next update. At least back to what it was. Until then, I’ll just cope.
From what I recall in the Dev Q&A is that performance increases are going to come from optimization of code not necessary related to DX12 and that DX12 was going to be used more for graphic enhancements and X-Box compatibility.
Ah, okay
