So according to you, complaining about the release state of the Junkers and its magical immediate takeoff is ok, but complaining that the Electra has a boatload of missing or broken features is a bridge too far?
As stated, I came here looking for a review and posted my thoughts upthead, but yes, the fact that some people require fainting couches and smelling salts over criticism of AH is too good to just look away from.
Didnât say anything of the kind. Fainting couches would be a good metaphor for how some have reacted to a developer daring to contradict unsubstantiated claims about their product by an amateur reviewer though.
In any case, since by your own admission youâre only in the thread for âdramaâ Iâm not going to feed you any more.
This thread says a lot more about the entitled and âknow it allâ nature of people that get into flight simming (or at least post on forums) rather than anything about the actual product.
I think I will just stop tracking this thread and keep my eyes out for an update of the Electra and see what people say at that future point in time about the fixed version. If the updated version looks good I am buying it.
This is just a vain attempt to gain a moral high ground. Sound elaborate and eloquent, push the other discussion members into the emotional corner and there you are, being in the superior position. Everyone daring to challenge you is emotional as well. A basic manipulative tactic. That with the foregoing discussion on how to not display this topic. All the attempt to seem more âgrown upâ. Only it falls flat on its face here. Firstly. This is the internet. No one cares. And while this tactic may work irl it makes you just look silly trying to pressure people in a forum.
Secondly there was very little crying in this thread to begin with. And actually a serious discussion about the flaws of the aircraft. And of the conduct of the producer. So little leverage is to be found for the emotional stretch.
And thirdly what people employing this tactic never realize is that while maybe working well when spoken and no one can read the history it makes you look even more emotional than the people you want to make look like it. All the drama on âhow to hide the topicâ could easily be bypassed. I mean really, you cannot find the mute button or have so little self restraint not to click into a thread you do not like? Not very believable. There is little difference in what they claim the other side is doing and what they do. And it does not further anything. If at all it is just bashing dressed in a nice attire.
Has there been any update from the dev? is there likely to be? Can anybody tell me?
If not I am getting refund, for this. Fed up of this. You know if it was some feature that no plane had I could live with it⊠But mixtures, VOR etc that defaults have is crazy.
If I have to go the refund route then never buying from AH again, and best of all No hard feelings
Hopefully. At least until they got it working decently. I still am amazed how people wanting a working product have hissy fits while the poor devs are being bullied while they earn money. This is business, not being buddies on the playground.
Itâs more of a hobby that pays beer money for most developers, including AH. If it becomes a thankless task, as this Electra has, why should AH bother with it?
LOL, no it is not. No labour of love, no side project. This is a job. And it is not thankless. They have been thanked and compensated by a premium plane amount of money for an as of now rather low end product.
They ask $30 for it! We are supposed to thank them for a broken product? I mean, good for you that you swim in so much money that buying broken products isnât a big deal for you, but please understand that it is for others.
P.S.: just to clarify. I donât have a problem with a few bugs here and there. Every aircraft has them. And as we all know MSFS has plenty of problems too. But if very basic stuff isnât even working properly, and the devs brush off potential customers after getting feedback for improvements, itâs freeware territory, not payware.
P.P.S.: and to clarify some more. I will happily buy the Electra and let all that drama be water under the bridge if, and only if, the offered content matches the price tag. If the Electra was a $15 plane, I probably would have bought it already, because that is a totally different playing field.
Hissy fit? Lol wow ok⊠so they have being getting beer money for 25 years as they said themselves. Well you just sealed the deal for them with me. Well done, great PR you are.
Started to receive a few flags, so quick reminder to please redirect discussions towards the add on Lockheed Electra. (Gorgeous looking airplane, BTW. If anyone wants to add a Lockheed Lodestar as well, that would be fantastic! )
Refund requested⊠Shame as it is a nice plane, but awful customer service IMHO from AH. So it is what it is. Too many basic things not working at this price and I am sick of just letting this kind of thing slide all the time waiting weeks/months for the basics to be fixed and no comment from them, its just not great really. A fool and their money are easily parted and I have been that fool too many times now. I hope it all works out.
Again you seem to be in a different reality? Nobody has called them thieves, nobody has called them anything other than lazy at a stretch. They have been accused of, and have shown proof of, treating customers with contempt. A lazy product, with many basics missing, and zero communication. All facts as backed up by their behaviour⊠I do not know what you are reading, but you are going above and beyond to defend the in-defendable and you are making things up or misinterpreting things.
I can only assume, flying anywhere close to reality is not high on your list if you are truly happy with the planeâŠThat is fine, each to their own, but please understand some of us expect a little more and will pay for it, but we also expect the basics, which work on default planes to work. As for beer moneyâŠ
1000 sales X $30.00 is not beer money is it? i mean are they drinking âGold flakeâ It is or was the top aircraft on Simmarket, and it is a bit of shambles, your ardent defence of such a poor showing is dumbfounding⊠But whatever, i hope I will get my refund, AH are now done for me, unless they pull this around ASAP, but my feeling is they are putting their ego before customers, it is a lazy release from a once amazing dev house.
You just try to dramatize. What I do not get is what for. No need to escalate. Is it to derail the thread and get it locked? All you have is non arguments that just shoot over the top. This does not further the discussion but it is just there to trigger people. And it kind of does not work.
This airplane may be underwhelming to many but calling it âtheftâ is slander.
Itâs an Electra as it say, you can fly it, it looks good from some points of view, and there is a lot of work put into it (even if it was done for FSX). Not liking the bang per buck is really not the same as calling someone a fraud.
Thatâs also the kind of behavior that some people had preemptively called as the reason why AH would not post here. It hadnât happened before but now it has.
Many people in this thread have implied that AH are thieves, consciously or not. Many people have repeated incorrect hearsay such as the FSX port-over myth. Many people have objected to a forum post which none of them have actually read. For their benefit, hereâs the whole thing including the original question:
Q: âWas watching the AvAngel YouTube review of the AH Lockheed Electra 10 A & right at the end she had some comments about the forthcoming AH DC-3 that were interesting.
How much credence do AvAngel reviews have in the world of YouTube MSFS reviewers?â
AH: "No credence whatsoever with me. She has, yet again, tried to review something without properly understanding the model or how it is made, how the coding is put together. She is wrong on so many counts, the âreviewâ if thatâs what one can call it, is just reduced to a personal opinion. She has not contacted us, which other reviews have done, to discuss âissuesâ she has with the package but rather blindly ploughed on making erroneous remarks. An example of the errors: She draws attention to a âfaultâ in the glass modeling of the side window in the cockpit. Had she done due research or God forbid, asked us, she would have know that the Electra has two panes of glass there, one that slides in real life (we have not animated it) and that is the leading edge of the outer pane. There are many more wild assumptions, like the reference to this being an FSX port. Wrong. Wrong.Wrong.
So no, we do not regard her as a credible reviewer. Others are more credible and do make the effort to speak with us.
Buying off the opinions of these people is not recommended. That is why we have a refund policy which takes the risk out of purchasing anyway."
