I can definitely see myself flying this one often despite its faults.
For the life of me I donât know where âterrible textures and modelingâ is coming from.
Are 3d rivets THAT important to people?
There have been add-ons that came out in the past couple weeks with multiple easily discernible geometry errors⊠Pieces of the plane wrongly sized or wrongly shaped⊠That didnât get half as much criticism for it.
Admit itâs not that bad at all and I still might get it because Iâve been waiting for an Electra for a long time. I just canât unsee the jagged corners on the cockpit window frames though. Maybe they donât look as bad in the sim, as they do in the pics?
I donât see those issues at all. And I am usually pretty good at spotting ugly stuff. I think the aircraft is good if you like Electra.
Yea I do. Got a few scale models of it and been holding off on doing the Amelia Earhart bush trip for want of a suitable plane. This would do nicely.
Iâll get it for sure, just not immediately. Will wait for a few patches to come out and get the Aerosoft Twotter when itâs out. Fly the Ju52 meanwhile (a beauty she is).
I also do hate all the extra switches AH has plastered all over the cockpit to swich on/off yokes and avionics and what have you. Ruins the authenticity of the plane. I hope they hide them from view in a future patch.
Ah but your opinion doesnât county Jeremy. I value it always here on the fora, but not where itâs about your favourite plane in the whole wide world. Sorry!
Itâs like me commenting on anything Mcdonnell Douglas. Just ignore me, religiously biased.
I think itâs both true really. I came over straight from a (neatly tweaked) FSX. Being in MSFS is an explosion of glitters and unicorns in the eye of this beholder already. I donât suppose Iâll ever find the personal need to buy scenery on top of the 1000x better default scenery we have now.
Then again with regards to planes. As I see the ability to make them look uncompromising extraordinary, Iâm not going to sit around in silly looking planes and reward developers for being sloppy. There used to be a need of compromise in FSX (and P3D too, to some extend), but not anymore and so I wonât have it. Though luckily I just donât have the eye for developer detail like some do⊠Iâm not offended easily.
Besides, why canât we get planes that look good AND fly by the book? Why does it have to be this or that. I want both - a well textured, beautifully modelled plane that flies just like the real deal. Simple.
The plane that comes closest to that till now, is the Just Flight Piper Arrow (and the Corsair, but I donât own that).
Just do it devs. Please.
Hmmmm⊠took off from Lukla. Missing an EGT gauge. Mixture doesnât seem to affect MP. Itâs REALLY low at 17,000. Like approaching 15. Itâs still flying and climbing but I wish I knew how well the mixture works. We will see. Gonna look at Fuel Flow gauges and see how those react.
Mixture levers are broken⊠I had it leaned at about what looks like 50% (hard to gauge without percentages on tooltips)⊠At FL180 and about 50% mixture they are both sitting at about 10. If I move the right lever, it only moves up at about 90% or so and then only up to 14. (thatâs at 100%)⊠but if I set close to 0, it doesnât move down from 10 either. The left mixture lever has zero effect whatsoever on fuel flow in the left engine. Not at 100%, not at 10%.
So, to summarize issues I found:
- Flaps Indicator doesnât work.
- Pitot Heat doesnât work.
- Mixture levers donât seem to have much effect if any.
- Left Fuel Flow Gauge doesnât work.
- Sperry Gyropilot doesnât have pitch functionality, only ALT HOLD.
- Sperry Gyropilot doesnât offer aileron control.
- DME indicator is INOP.
- Tail wheel lock doesnât work.
- Prop feathering doesnât work as intended via the Feather buttons - only via setting prop levers to zero? (Havenât tested, but thatâs what the manual says)
- No WWise sounds.
This is starting to disappoint after the initial reaction. Thatâs a lot of issues for the price of the aircraft. Those are some pretty major things.
If and when these issues are fixed Iâll definitely grab it.
For the price they are asking it seems rushed and buggy. I was really looking forward to it but once again people feel the need to kick a product out the door in a bad state rather than wait and release something good and build a reliable reputation.
Yes, this is certainly starting to look like an extremely rushed product. How come I was able to find all these issues (granted, some of them are known to the developers) less than 24 hours after purchasing? This is only my third flight on the aircraft.
I was quite looking forward to this but Iâm gonna give it a pass and see if they fix up a bunch of these issues.
What gets me is if they are aware of bugs (as they listed in the release notes) how about just wait until they are fixed? Itâs clear by now that this community has one hell of a backlash capability for shoddy releases (and so it should), why risk damaging your reputation instead of spending a week fixing some glaringly obvious bugs?
Every developer that has had something released with bugs or problems like this gets put on my list and I never purchase from them again - I canât be the only one.
Iâll never understand that business model.
Did you submit those to AH ?
Every developer that has had something released with bugs or problems like this gets put on my list and I never purchase from them again - I canât be the only one.
While I generally agree with the sentiment that developers should take more of a âWhen itâs done and not beforeâ mentality, especially when no particular release date has been publicly announced people are expecting them to hit, this mentality only ends up depriving you of some great experiences in the long run.
There are add-ons that were released in a state which could only be described as a hot mess which are now regarded by most everyone you ask as very enjoyable and well-rounded products after some dialogue with users and patching.
Wait a bit to see what happens, and donât shut the door on possible years of enjoyment because a judgment made in a day. Youâd have few if any developers not on your list left to buy from if the standard is âAll products released 100% perfect with zero updates needed ever.â
Thatâs way too much, and essentials too. Itâs basically a $30 demo version in this state.
Iâll give it a pass for now and wait for an update before I even consider a purchase. Disappointing, because I really, really like the Electra.
Was about to pull the trigger myself on thisâŠBut not now. To many basics not working.
Well not according to a lot of other people on these forums. The Arrows got a lot of criticism for visuals not being âCarenadoâ enough back when they came out.
