Love the Update, thank you.
Pull the stick back and pump the brakes, carefully.
Itâs been nosing over even with stick full back and not touching brakes at all.
Pumped brakes BEFORE landing on my most recent attempt and that seemed to to the trickâŠ
Sounds like your parking brake was somehow on, then. Glad you fixed it.
Just tried the recent update.
Itâs great, the flight model (mainly take off) seems to be much smoother and easier.
Iâve noticed these issues:
- zoom function in VR (when pressing the right mouse button) is set too much and moves view behind the instrument panel.
- the previously mentioned functionality âATC Power now tied to Radio Unit â to be able to contact ATC, select any preset channel on the radio (A-D) to power it onâ stopped working. Now the ATC is on even no radio channel is selected.
- I cannot toggle Fuel CutOff with the mapped button. Previously mapped to Toggle Fuel Valve worked well, now it doesnât work. Is there anybody with the same issue? Or could anybody please advise to which function I should map the button to make the Fuel CutOff work again?
Yes mate. Just had a gorgeous flight around Invercargill in amazing live weather morning sunshine.
Good lord the whole picture looked amazing. Sometimes this game is breathtakingly beautifulâŠand the Spit looked stunning too. Photorealistic.
Very nice update from FlyingIron too. The Spit now handles like a dream on the ground and in the air. Very nice to fly and looks great. If anybody was still wondering if they should pull the trigger on this my advice would be âdonât wait any longer, you know you want toâ
Spent a bit more time with v1.0.2 and the slipper tank: you get it initially if you put any fuel into âExternal 1â. Once you start the session it remains attached until you pull the FUEL JETT handle (circled in red). I like it!
Odd, havenât experienced any issues with that myself⊠you sure the parking brake isnât on when you are landing?
Like the update, some nice refinements - Good job FlyingIron.
Overall, loving it even more after update. Anyone who does not have it is not a real aviator LOL! Cheers.
Got a notification for another update.
1.0.2rc2
Canât see any release notes for it, 2 updates in same day?
Anybody downloaded it yet to see what it does?
I assume 1.0.2rc2 has corrected camera positions for quick views and instrument views.
Yeah, we just corrected the camera bug in rc2.
Thank you for the quick update!
Could you please add an option to remove camera collisions in the cockpit? I would like to stick my head outside.
Thank you for the updates.
As stated in a previous post, I absolutely love this aircraft. Just a couple of minor suggestions which would would be useful for many of us: (i) set the DisableAutopilot Controls to 0 instead of 1 by default, and (ii) with Failures turned off, prevent the engine from cutting out when over boosted or over speed. It is a Sim after all and many of us like to use the autopilot and fly full throttle/speed even though in a real Spit this is not possible. Cheers.
where can i turn the autopilot back on?
Now the Spitfire is finally controllable⊠no more heavy banking in a low crosswind. thank you for the flight model update, now it feels much better.
@AKMSFS, as follows:
- open the flying iron-spitfire folder in your Community folder
- open the SimObjects folder
- open the Airplanes folder
- open one of the two aircraft type folders (non-clipped wing & clipped wing)
- open the engines file
- about 20 lines down, change DisableAutopilotControls from 1 to 0
- repeat steps 5 & 6 for the other aircraft type
Cheers.
How might one know how much fuel is in the new external tank?
