It’s an ugly bird, isn’t it?

Roy didn’t care what his airplanes looked like - just that they did everything right while being bulletproof.
Aesthetics wasn’t really a word until recently

Ugly? are we looking at the same aircraft?

I got the sense that that was a facetious remark..

Observations:
A. The Widgeon is easier to trim for level flight with (at least) a 3/4 loadout of fuel and pax.
B. Ground handling is manageable with deft manipulation of differential throttle, rudder, and toe brakes.
C. In the water, Differential thrust and the (phantom) allowfor decent control over steering but watch your speed so you don’t plow into the dock.

More to learn.

Not yet! I am gonna do it tonight after I fulfill my promise of watching Black Widow with the wife. Why do I always get sucked into watching stuff I don’t want to see?:joy:

Is it just me or does it feel way too powerful? To stay in the middle of the green arc (about 120 knots) I fly around with 15" MP. This seems off… If I go for 21" MP which should be recommended I am way above in the yellow.
Otherwise nice plane

you’re not wrong - it seems to fly as if it had radials on it, or as a re-engined Continental powered airplane. I think it is possible that FSW looked at the flight data of one of these other versions and applied it to their Ranger powered example…which make this airplane a much better bush plane and cruiser but may not necessarily be completely accurate.

im watching “Jiro Dreams of Sushi”.

I liked this review of BW, tho:

Very nice aircraft. The exteriour sound is a bit loud.

I would really like to have a variant with no GPS but 2 COMs, 2 NAVs, an DME and an ADF instead.
