New Release: Mario Noriega Designs C-22J

Just a question more than a comment: is it normal that the “engine master” button starts the engine ? I thought the engine master switch is just “allowing” the engine to start, but not starting it itself ? If so, what is the use of the engine “motor” start at the bottom ?

Also (but I’m not 100% sure about that one) it seems to me the engine could start even though the fuel pump was off… but I need to double-check that one.

Just tested quickly at the parking: engine starts as soon as you press the “engine master” button. That button opens the fuel valve and starts the engine, but the fuel pump stays OFF. Nevertheless, the engine starts successfully… not sure if this is accurate ?

Hello There!

These behaviours are correct, at least from what can be discerned from the manuals and procedures:

  • Engine MASTER buttons trigger auto-start and shutdown, commanding the ECU (Engine Control Unit)
  • The MOTOR button is used for dry motoring. Mainly to flush the engine in case 8it gets flooded with fuel (to avoid hot starts)

Mario N.

Enjoying the update Mario. Two things I’d like to see:

  1. Allow the canopy to be operated without automatically entering/exiting the aircraft. If you wanted to add clickspots to get in/out, I’d suggest the seat to enter and perhaps the edge of the canopy to exit.
  2. 3rd party GTN650 integration, PMS50 / TDS.
