New Release: NextGen Simulations' Embraer EMB-110 Bandeirante

Yes you mention other points I noticed that I forgot to mention. On the air conditioner the cabin temp is always at 0.
Also the ramp manager functions are a little pointless when they are not already deployed when the sim first starts.

I tend to think this also myself after flying the plane for a while though I’m not expert at all so might be wrong, many functions feels like not modeled at all and only there as mere buttons.

The checklist seems to say inverters should be on and while flying but they aren’t turned on for the on runway ready to go state.weird.

I’m unable to determine what they even do.

I think they switch power between ac and dc and change the voltage. Seems they have no effect.

Yes, I know what inverters do! :slightly_smiling_face:

I meant I don’t think they have any effect on this aircraft in the sim.

Unless the de-icing system runs on AC and these provide that power…

Isn’t the prop speed (prop RPM) constant and you are only adjusting the prop feathering? You can clearly hear the load change and the see the speed change when you operate the prop levers.

I made a checklist based off the in plane checklist that came with the update. It may not be the best or fanciest one around, but it’s cleanly laid out and easy to read and follow if anyone is interested.

Yeah speed and audio are adapting to prop rpm adjustments which is great, just would need to see that also mapped out to the Nh gauge on XBox.

My understanding of operation is that the prop lever sets prop rpm through the normal range and once that’s set, the rpm stays fixed/constant where you want it and then prop pitch adjusts as power is changed. But then when you move prop levers below detent, then you are manually setting pitch to feather below that point. Not sure if that’s what you were describing though & open to being corrected on that.

You got it right. Fixed Speed Prop means, the RPM doesn´t change with Power (torque or Manifold Pressure). But in some planes you can change the RPM with the lever to a certain RPM, which then is the fixed RPM. And it usually goes along with changing the pitch of the props to keep the RPM fixed. If you increase power pitch goes more low, so the props don´t spin up and vice versa.

I’m still flying this airplane on Xbox (we have so few good choices…) and with just a tiny bit of polish this could be so great.

Like many, many other elements of this entire sim experience, the final touches just seem to be forgotten. How many times daily, as I fly, do I run into one of these, “If they would just fix this little thing…”

My mountain climbing friends have a saying, “We’ve come this far, we may as well summit.” I wish the developers working throughout this sim would have a similar outlook.

I really hope NextGen Simulations comes good and pushes an update for the EMB-110. It’s such a great little aircraft. I love flying the P variant with the Cubana de Aviación livery throughout the islands in the Caribbean.

The (We) Germans have a saying that translates as „A good horse does not jump higher than it has to“. This sim is managed by a German so the target line of development and addons has to be obvious.

by far my favorite plane to fly on xbox, it really saved my experience on xbox and i think is a really good package with great liveries. Needs a bit more love from the developer and can be a great one in my opinion.

I wish NextGen would add pilots to the Bandeirante. Using the MSFS 2020 default pilot figures would be fine. Right now, the Bandeirante looks like a ghost plane with nobody flying it from external view.

Other than that, I really like the Bandeirante. But I don’t fly it very much due to the missing pilots.

Ah, you must be an external view pilot?

I’m so focused on the cockpit, I rarely look outside the aircraft, save for when I’m doing my pre & post flight walk arounds.

I’ve contacted NextGen a couple of times since the last update and had some very encouraging replies - a further update will be released sometime this year and it will address most if not all remaining issues.
My main issue is the FPS drop due to the xml gauges, and NextGen are looking into the possibility of converting them to a different format instead of waiting for Asobo to implement NanoVG rendering for gauges.
In the meantime, JayDee’s Improvement Mod and the NG Bandeirante Patch by lexandro (for PC only, sorry!) have added most of the finishing touches anyone could wish for - thanks, guys!

Yeah, other than taking off, landing, and performing other significant maneuvers, I fly mostly in external view, enjoying the external model of the aircraft and the cinematic scenery in MSFS 2020 which I can see so much better in external view. I don’t use the external HUD, so I’m also popping back into the cockpit to check fuel, etc.

So I’m still a cockpit guy, too, as I want everything working like it should, but I’m mostly flying on autopilot and in external view enroute

a man of taste

I often do the same on mid to long flights

Glad to hear that developer is acknowledging updates. I really love flying this plane as well, I am on Xbox and there isn’t many choice for decent planes so this and the Islander are my “go to” right now. Both are quite fun. I do fly an airliner once in awhile to change it up and fly the 737 Max.

I’m glad I found this explanation, thank you as it’s been frustrating. I’ve tried nearly all of the stock planes and have a few add-ons (Arrow, BN-2) and none of them behave this way so it’s an adjustment to not use the throttle to descend (and no change in sound) but the prop lever instead. Does this mean EMB-110 is simply modeling this correctly and is unlike any of the stock planes? Are there other planes that behave this way? I’m on xbox so limited options.

For a plane that has already had a number of updates it still seems to have some issues. Sounds is odd (and obvious loop that gets annoying) and after take-off sometimes it will dive and crash when I didn’t seem to do anything wrong. Maybe the flight model is just more true-to-life than other planes and it’s my problem.
