New Release: ORBX Blackwing BW 635RG

Weird… I bought it yesterday and was dying to fly it, but… The landing gear doesn’t work, either with the button on the joystick or the G on the keyboard. On other planes it works fine. A shame!

Is the master switch in the up position?
This airplane has a three-position master switch: down, center, and up.
If it is not in the up position, it will not supply electricity to the flaps and landing gear.
Note that there are other switches with the same three positions.
Please read the manual in the Documentation folder for more information.

Like the other post, it’s your master switch. 3 positions, put it all the way up. Please make sure to check the manual.

That’s for sure, the flaps don’t work either. I will try it. Thank you so much D178279

Both the flaps and the landing gear depend on the master switch position, and they need the third position to actuate. 100% sure it is that, nothing wrong with the plane nor with you as you wouldn’t be expecting this particularity from the plane.

I really would like to buy this plane (I’m a Xbox user) but I’m afraid of some related bugs, specially those related to AP.

Could someone pls confirm if the AP in Xbox is working as it should? Or does it really have that behavior of high pitch when the AP is turned off?!

Thanks

The AP disconnect but is not a major blocker to fly the plane, just make sure you are ready to correct and you will be fine. I’m on PC, not Xbox but the plane is totally flyable and the bugs are either annoying or cosmetic but not blockers.

Had a one hour flight also on XBOX today. After disconnecting the AP I immediately trim down, so it’s not jumping upwards.
No major bug in my opinion. Really great to fly this UL !

Thanks Luis…

Well the plane doesn’t want to fly… With the Master switch on Normal (UP) neither the flaps nor the landing gear nor the AP work…

Works perfectly for me and many others. Presumably you’ve read the manual and used the checklist.

The problem is yours not ours.

We are here to help
You must have the backup switch turned on (the one next to the master switch) turn that off and make sure the master is in the upper (third) position for flaps and landing gear to work.

Luck!

Thanks Luis. Yes, I also created this forum to help and inform… I’ll keep trying.

Is this a cold and dark start issue?

Does it work ok if you hot start on the runway?
If that works, hot start, then Shift-Ctrl-E to shut down, then Ctrl-E to start again. All ok?

If it’s ok, scan the switches/controls after a Ctrl-E and see if you notice anything different from your manual start.
You can also do this start cold and dark, switch between Ctrl-E and reset to take it back to apron.flt state.

That just verifies the plane is working correctly, so it’s a matter of figuring out what switches in the manual sequence are not being set to get you on your way.

Thanks, try all that. Ctrl-E as I don’t use it ever, I didn’t remember it. :joy:

well With Ctrl-E everything works fine. Continue testing the switches. Many thanks to those who helped me! :+1:

Great.

Have you also tried starting up from cold and dark with assisted checklst?
I think the blackwing will highlight the required controls as you follow it through.
You may just be missing one key setting.

Anybody have a SimBrief profile for this?

The first minute of this video should help you start the plane from cold and dark. Just don’t touch the red button next to the master switch!

Thank you Sonicviz. I have done that and everything works fine. You just have to be careful not to touch the red button, as Luis says, thanks too… What I haven’t been able to find out, even by reading the manual, is how to see the distance to a VOR-DME or ILS …
