Looks promising! Congratulations on his second payware! How does it compare with the twin? It interesting though the author didn’t make a post on the forum himself.

Interesting art style, looks like a blend of Lionheart/Bill Ortis and that of Aeroplane Heaven, which means they are taking a more “cartoon” bright colors and shiny textures approach compared to Carenado’s or inibuild’s more muted photorealism. Kind of concerned that the existing cockpit shots are both masked by the dusk and night environment, and in one case very zoomed in to illustrate overly reflective glass.

The developer seems to have a history of a very extended string of steady improvements, which is a positive, but may be indicative of a lack of attention to detail (or a lack of knowledable testers) prior to release.

All in all, will be closely watching for critical analysis of those that are hands on with this model. It’s nice to see something different, and this looks to be of generally higher quality than the dev’s first release - which makes sense.

I had the impression that with the Twin Navion it was neither. Instead I believe we were seeing the author’s learning curve and every new skill learned went straight into the product.

Also I believe the textures are not necessarily designed to look like they are, but creating fully photorealistic textures still isn’t part of the author’s skill set.
To be fair: even after three years barely any dev or 3rd party livery creator currently is able to match Carenado in that regard. If the dev does everything by himself it’s natural he can’t be an expert in everything

I like it. It feels a little like driving a '72 VW Bug with a modern stereo. But one thing I had to do after my first flight was to get a can of spray cleaner and get rid of that bug splat that was blocking my view!

So a real Navion is on my list of potential purchases.
But I’m really super on the fence on this purchase.
I was happy enough with the Ercoupe and Globe Swift. Not psyched, but got what I was expecting and they are ok to fly.
I was super disappointed by the Spartan Executive, I can’t really say why but it just feels toy like to me.

Which of these is this closer too? Is it at least reasonable to fly? For example, the P.149 is one of my favorite planes to fly, and maybe this is akin to that? Though obviously not as pretty as that plane.

So funny, I went to go purchase the F7F, and came across this. I really do want to like it as I’d love to own a Navion (I was sooo close to buying a P.149 which I discovered because of the one in this sim, but, it was not to be. That plane is also still on my radar)

I purchased this from the marketplace within FS2020 on 4-6-2024. The landing gear and flaps do not work a this time. Over the past couple of weeks I have tried changing numerous settings and have used it on two different computers… one running windows 10 pro and one running windows 11 pro.

I have deleted and reloaded the plane. I have tried work-arounds such as changing the aircraft mid-flight. With this technique the landing gear can be raised and the flaps can be retracted, but the gear and the flaps cannot be lowered again even when switching back and forth between aircraft. I have read of others having the same problem in other forums, but no working solutions have been shared. I have contacted the author recently but have not heard back yet.

Have you tried their discord support?

Do you have a link? I joined Discord just now but so far have not been able to find Hangar Studios 713’s server.

OK I found a Discord link on Hangar Studios 713’s webpage and am seeing if there is anything helpful there.

Did you try to pull the hydraulic lever?

Yes, that took care of the problem. Thanks!!!

Hi, I bought this plane yesterday, it’s beautiful, but I can’t close the hood/door. I’ve tried everything but it won’t close completely.

Is it leaving a gap or are you unable to close the latch?

I use the “Legacy” sim control mode, so the control mechanism for opening and closing the canopy is to place your mouse such that the arrow is either pointing upwards or downwards and then click and hold. If it’s pointing upwards, it will slide the canopy back and if pointing downwards it will slide the canopy forward. I’ve found that I need to be above the T-handle to get the upward arrow.

To activate the latch, you have to move the mouse forward of the entire mechanism (between the latch and the floodlight bezel on the windscreen header) so the pointer changes to a hand and then click.

Again, those are with the Legacy control mode.

With the “Lock” control mode it is a bit easier. The handle will turn blue when you hover over it. Click and hold the mouse button and pull downwards to slide the canopy forward. Push the mouse upwards to slide it back. Hover forward (again, between the latch and the spotlight bezel on the windscreen header) of the latch to get the latch to turn blue and then click to lock/unlock it.

Hope that helps.
