New release: SimPixel Rome Ciampino LIRA (FS2020 & 2024)

I like how these guys just release stuff with zero warning. Best way to surprise us!

Granted, I appreciated the interior modelling at SimPixel Weeze and some of the airside details at SimPixel Naples, so I wish there was some airside interior details for extra immersion-especially in this part of the terminal would be nice to see added in an update by SimPixel.

Other than that minor niggle, LIRA looks nice for ÂŁ10.99:

Some nicely done custom static cars by SimPixel:

Anybody else with bad performance?

I have high vram and quite a lot of stutters…

Seems by the worst performing airports in my colection…

Anybody else with this problem?

This is my third version of LIRA I own and finally a decent rendition of this important Ryanair hub. It’s not as detailed as top developers can elaborate nowadays (as already mentioned by @amarks1 ) but I don’t regret the purchase. I was lucky that today they land on RWY 33 which has a RNV procedure with the last segment flown only under visual conditions - a breathtaking handful approach with the hills on the right side. A beautiful place to fly.

I can’t confirm this. Performance was smooth at this airport for me (I have 16GB of VRAM). To be honest there are not many reasons why this airport would be heavy on VRAM under normal circumstances. Are you sure you don’t have some other version overlapping?

No not another version but tested some more things and the airport seems to be fine indeed.

I bought it and it’s quite nice, but there are several things that are not ok. I am waiting for the FG Design version, I have seen the previews and some more (with an even more realistic rendition) will come soon, with a surprising level of details. I live near that airport and have worked one year in it, so I know it better than my pockets

Who is FG Design? I can’t find them with Google.

They told me that the Discord previews are anyway old and now have been vastly improved (new previews will be posted shortly)

They claimed in July that the project was at an “advanced stage”. Should we be concerned that, in the seven months since, there’s been nothing?

Looks nice, by the way. Seems to have more custom detail than SimPixel’s.

Yes, since I live nearby and have worked there, I am very interested in having a very realistic Ciampino scenery and contacted them. They said they are a very limited group of people and in the past months, although not being their main activity, they have improved further al the models and the textures, with a maniac attention to details (looks like they also have the chance to go there personally to take pictures and notes), therefore times are getting longer. Anyway they are striving to get it finished “soon” (with the usual unknown meaning of the word “soon”…)
