New Simmers: Introduce Yourself!

Hi im new to msfs2020, i’ve been playing the game for about 2 weeks and I have an issue… my rudders aren’t working, if I press RT to turn right with my rudders nothing happens but the tail turns right and stays there until i press LT and same thing when I turn left so if you know how to fix this pls help

*help me, I think this is bc of the f a 18 because I went into controles settings and searched steering and I changed something in that so the f a 18 turns on ground, but on the f a 18 turns on ground none other planes do. Please help me if you can thank you.

Hello!

Welcome to MSFS!

If you are talking about the Camera pop-up, click the “X” in the top right of the pop up.

Or-

Click the camera icon in the toolbar.

Hope this helps!

thanks for your response…I’ll see if that will help. (I don’t use a mouse or keyboard, just the XBox controller and console.). I can share a screenshot to show what happens; not sure if that helps

The entire screen is basically blocked off. Is that something the Camera pop-up would cause? I’m very new to gaming! (One other issue is I don’t seem to have a cursor available that I can find to click anything…I don’t see how to even get the Toolbar to disappear). Was wondering if I need to use keyboard/mouse?

Hi, I am Playing on PC. I am very much interested in Aviation, always wanted to be a pilot when I was a child growing up but I ended up being a frequent travelling business person. LOL

Planes fascinated me when I was a kid (we lived right under the approach in line with the runway (3miles away from touch down) of an international airport. So I was able of studying a lot of planes from 290 meters below. I played a lot of flight simulators when I was a kid on my Amiga 500. Mostly F/A-18 Interceptor, Falcon (1989), A320 Airbus (1991), and some of the older MS Flight Simulators.

So far I only used the FBW 32nx which I feel I mostly figured out and haven’t crashed once in 50 hours. I just got the PMDG 737-800 which I crashed 3 times in the first couple of hours. Should that make me feel safer in an Airbus? Or was it just me trying to fly the 737 like the A320? LOL

Oh, can someone recommend Youtube tutorials for the PMDG 737? I see there are quite a few youtubers. Anyone of them a real pilot? I enjoyed the videos from “320 Sim Pilot” for the A32nx. I like how he puts things in context with the real world Airbus…

Thanks for your reaching out. I had also contacted Microsoft - they suggested I needed to delete the cloud data, due to something corrupted. (I understand zero of this!) I did what they said and it finally did correct. Thanks again.

The challenges contnue, even sorting out the use of this forum. Ths adventure continues…

Hi Owen,

Glad you are here!

Thank you now I have a question for anyone here. I just turned on my FS and for some reason it is not connecting to the internet. My steam program is logged in and I can log into FS online, but the game itself doesn’t login and there is no longer a place to login or to go ATC because I don’t have the game spy area login any more. Is there something I missed that I’m not doing?

Are you playing Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition by any chance?

Hello - I am getting setup with Flight Simulator X on Steam. I fly RC planes, and am an aviation fanatic. I am looking for instructions on how to set up / assign the controls in the simulator. The Settings > Controls area is confusing to me, to say the least, and I have not been able to find straightforward instructions that explain why, for instance, the Throttle and Elevator are both assigned to the X axis, and how the scheme for mapping controls to axes actually works… how do I use it? Meanwhile, my controller works for ailerons and elevator, but not rudder or throttle. Help?

I My name is Coussini. I’m new here. I usualy play MSFS 2020 in PC. I usualy fly any big plane like Fenix and others. Have a nice day

A post was split to a new topic: Touch Portal “Fenix A320 Essential”

Hi, my name is Joe. I am a returnee to FS as I haven’t been involved since FSX!
I have FS installed on my PC and I am using Saitek (now Logitech) yolk and throttle quadrants mounted on a Wheel Stand Pro S with a multi panel and switch panel on the way.
I look forward to exchanging ideas and hearing advice and maybe sharing a little from my experience.
I am a retired ARTCC and TRACON ATCS (Air Traffic Control Specialist) and former DC3 jockey.
Thanks and hope to communicate with you soon!
