New Simmers: Introduce Yourself!

I can’t. The New Topic button is disabled for me. I assume my account needs to be promoted a level to be able to.

Hello again @ParadiseFlight

When I looked at your profile, it showed that you are Trust Level 2, so you can create a topic. Have you ensured that you aren’t trying to create a topic in a category and ensure you are trying to create it in a sub-category?

With that being said, there are some subcategories in which you can’t create a topic in, see the list below.

With that, can you see if you can create a topic now?

Hello @ParadiseFlight,
I have checked your account. You do have the ability to create a new topic. Assure you are in a subcategory and not a root category. :+1:

Thank you both, @HamMan2118 and @Hester40MT. I now see that I am able to post in a subcategory!

Other question: I could potentially post a reply in an existing topic in utilities that has 300+ replies. Is it forum preference to post a reply if it is remotely related (seems to be an ongoing thread about the XTouch Mini), even though it is quite a long thread already?

If it’s a bug, yes, most definitely. But you if you need assistance, it’s best to create a new topic so that it’s “one-on-one” for your case. It is up to you what you would like to do.

We do ask that when posting bugs or wishes, to use existing topics. Creating new ones split these issues and votes on them.

In your case, a new topic would be of best benefit for you. You can post this in: #community-support:tech-support. The use of tags are important. Try to use as many tags allowed that fits your issue. :+1: Tags go into the tag field under the subject line.

Welcome!

Did you contact Zendesk?

Hi Alex, welcome. I had the same issue a couple of weeks ago.
What worked for me is start MSFS, log out (top right screen) and log in again.
If that doesnt work, you might also try to do the same thing with your X-box account.

playing flight sim since 1983. Downloading 118 gb. When i downloaded and installed MS FS 40th…it said that my computer does not meet the min req’s and will probably experience errors. My computer clearly meets the requirements for this sim and is that just a data ■■■■ or am I missing something?
I’m playing on PC

Hi @BadKharma2785 ,

Welcome to the forums!

It could be that MSFS misinterpreted your computer specs. In that case your sim will probably run just fine. If it doesn’t maybe something isn’t meeting the minimum requirements.

If you can share your specs here maybe we can find the cause of this message.

Sorry but what is zendesk

Hello @olddane69

Zendesk is a reporting platform where bugs can be reported, but it can also be used to submit issues with marketplace purchases (like yours)

Here is their link: https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us

I just put a Old HP Z600 worksation with a Xeon 5675 and 24GB ram together and a GeForce 1070 together and installed the ultimate FS. I bougth the game many years ago and just had no time to “play”. I just don’t play games and have things to do. The 1070 came from a computer that I put together for my daughter and she used it ONE time. I better put it to better use. I did some “training” and need to know the setting when using a Logitech Yoke and throttle companion. I hope to learn how to fly and have many years of enjoyment out of it. The only other flying I do is on a BMW K1600 . . . .

Hello!
I’ve been into flight simulation since the 1990s (I still remember how Flight simulator 1998 was like).
Through the years I left and got back at it a few times. I enjoy simulated flight of both aircraft and helicopters and I’m always interested in checking out control hardware like joysticks etc.

I took part in the development of HorizonClock (an aviation-inspired desk clock & AHARS,
you can check it out here:
Make 100: HorizonClock with Simulator support by Horizon Clock — Kickstarter )

Happy flying to everyone.

Hi all!

My name is Chris and im from the East Coast USA.
Just picked up MSFS through game pass on my pc and grabbed myself a cheap logitech joystick.
Absolutely loving the experience so far with only 25 hours under my belt. My main plane so far has been the TBM 930 and tonight I spent a few hours learning how to really get a grasp on RNAV landing.
Cant wait to learn more from the community and progress in my skills.
