Welcome to the forums!

Hello to all.
I have been using MS flight simulators back from v 1.0 in 1982!
I actually started with Bruce Artwicks FS on my Apple ][

I wanted to get a pilots license, but I have a daugher with severe medical issues and could not justify spending the time (and $$$) to get one.
She likes me flying (esp when I do silly things ā€“ like try a barrel roll in a 747)

Many thanks, Brian

Hi, you can call me Bryan.
Iā€™m just starting to explore MSFS. I havenā€™t used sims in 20 yearsā€¦
Iā€™m starting my formal private pilots training, and thought it would be fun to supplement with MSFS.
I donā€™t have anything yet, and will need a new PC and flight controls.
Maybe you can guide me here?
Iā€™m looking forward to learning from you all.

Thanks!

Good morning VigorosoCrowd25
Welcome to MSFS 2020. My name is Rich, retired on most days. Co-Pilot in the Forum, can assist you.
Iā€™m on XBox S series, switching to XBox X series. Should be here next week.
Iā€™ve had PCā€™s in the past. Downside of them is the fact that always needing to upgrade! Worry bout viruses.
For $499.00, the Xbox X is the best way to go for the price in my opinion! Next year MSFS 2024 is coming out.

Add me if you like.

Thanks Rich,

How do I add you?
Iā€™m hoping to get realistic flight controls similar to the piper I am using for flight school. Are these options with the xbox?
With the xbox, does one have all the same features available to a PC?
Iā€™ve been looking at high end PC builds that are coming in at 5K. WOW.

Where is the best location on this forum to discuss xbox, vs PC, and PC build levels relative to gaming performance? Iā€™d like to learn more about what you get for the extra 4.5K relative to an xbox.

Does it make sense for me to get started on the basic system I have now and then upgrade down the line?

Thanks again for the help!

Good morning.
There are differant configurations by Thrustmaster.com. Not sure if you fly with a Yoke Or a Stick, like a J-3 Cub! Not sure of what type of PC you have, what brand, and size. How much you are willing to spend to upgrade your PC! Do you have an headset with Mic?
Like I said the Xbox X is $499.99. Also with my new S series Iā€™m getting an 1 tb Exspasion Card $149.00
The X has 1 TB hard drive, 120 fps, 12 teraflops of power!
Iā€™m not sure of a special place in here to discuss the sim other than here.
In Sim main page, upper right corner are 4 small circles. Second from right click on it, opinion to add friend. Type my Gamertag, and add?
