Hello FranknBeans
Welcome to MSFS 2020
A post was split to a new topic: Training Missions Questions
Thank you so much
Hello,
My name is Rob, and I am simming sinceā¦
Oh boy that is pretty long ago.
Must be FS 2 or 3. At least since 1988.
I remember I had 4, 5 95, 98, 2000, 2002, 2004, X , a few Prepared and new are starting on MSFS.
Which looks great, but I am totally lost. Not a single button is the same, but I will fiddle it out.
I even bought a new Yoke. Alpha and Bravo comboā¦
Thanks for having me.

Sorry to add into this post.I am new to the sim and this forum. I have a question to ask, but am unable to find a ānew postā facility.
Do I have to reply to other peoples posts before I can start a post of my own?
Ross
The ability to use forum functions is based on your trust level.
The link above spells out how that works.
I have sent you a direct message you can respond to, and weāll get your question entered.
To introduce myself. I am playing Microsoft Flight Simulator on a PC
I wanted to try flight simulation because I needed a change from watch making. I service watches (clean and get them working again).
I originally had fsx at least 20 years ago. My computer was not powerful enough so I could only look.
I now have a low end desktop. Purchased steam fsx. Realised 2020 could run on this computer. Purchased the steam 2020 and my graphics card died. Got a refund from steam. 3 month later company replaced faulty graphics card.
Purchased 2020 from Microsoft store. Great funā¦ ish. Gosh, what a learning curve.
Will use steam refund to purchase steam 2024 when it is released. Hopefully same date?
I do have an early question.
Iām most interested in learning about Garmin G1000 in Microsoft Flight Simulator: Trying to find if there is a stand alone way of using it. When I fly the plane and begin to learn, I run out of air. Can I learn on the Ground ?
Also is there a beginners section for the forum? Iām sure there are many like me.
By the way
76 years. Englishman living in Scotland. Great place to be.
Regards
Ross
Hi there and welcome to the simā¦
You should check out Garminās website, I believe they have a really good G1000 simulator, which you can play with without being in the sim, this will help when you are in the sim.
