Hello all!

Not new to sims at all, been flying sims for the better part of 2 decades. My first Microsoft based sim was FS2000. But I’ve finally come back to the Microsoft brand of sims after leaving FSX behind for P3D in 2016. I started developing firefighting aircraft mods, repaints, and related conversions/updates in P3D for aircraft since then really. The firefighting aspect that was added to MSFS 2024 is largely what brought me back on top of the advancement of the sim.

Looking forward to bringing over my aerial firefighting mod ability and knowledge from my small development community and hopefully spreading it more into this sim as well.

Hi All

I’m 61 but it makes me feel about 12 years old to say my wife bought me an Xbox for Christmas  (expressly to meet a briefly mentioned interest in MSFS 3024) .

My interest in simming comes from my former occupation as a Royal Air Force Avionic Engineering Technician assimilated to work on Synthetic Trainers (Jaguar Flight Simulator) for a couple of years. I still find sims fascinating.

That having been said, I’m not particularly coordinated, so I imagine I will spend quite a lot of time crashing / banging out (if past experience is anything to go by )

I want to try flight simulation because: I want to brush up on fundamental skills required to fly.

Hello fellow Simmers,

My name Is Peter, my Xbox Gamertag is CaptainTXV(then some numbers). I mainly play Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on my Xbox Series X which I just got about a month ago. I JUST got Microsoft Flight Sim a few days ago and boy 'o boy am I hooked already.

Like I mentioned above I do play on the Xbox Series X, but just as of today I am playing on my PC via the Xbox App. So, you could say I’m playing on PC kind of? I’m guessing I just can’t have VATSIM or things of that nature since it isn’t truly playing on Steam. But my PC is a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 4070Ti Super OC, 32GB Ram, so It’s pretty decent you could say.

I am currently playing with my Xbox Controller, trying to figure out all the controls with using the Keyboard and Mouse as well since I’m using the Xbox App on my PC now. It’s such a hard but rewarding learning curve that I plan on fully sticking out!

The reason why I’m playing MSFS '24 is because of my fascination with aircraft that has come out of nowhere just recently about 6 months ago. But that fascination started with finding out about FlightRadar24. Once I found that app and started watching the planes in my State and City, which is Colorado Spring’s Colorado, that just fueled the fire. As mentioned above I just got my Xbox as basically a Christmas present to myself, I just turned 30 January 3rd and the games I play have drastically changed. Now I find myself playing basically only sim’s (not the people sims) like House Renovator, Car Mechanic Simulator 2021… So, when I found that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 was on the Game Pass for the month that’s when it grabbed me in its clutches haha!

I would eventually like to upgrade to a Yoke and Rudder pedals, but those are all very expensive. I’ll try to get pieces on sales, one at a time. I’m not one of those guys with a fully operational homemade Boeing 747 cockpit in their kitchen! Not YET at least!! Anyways, I’m loving the game and would love to have some friends to play and talk with! So please comment and message me!

Well I have to admid that I sticked until december 2024 with FS2004. The best version ever, until I got MSFS 2024. A huge differance with all other versions. So yes I’m a newbie again. I hope to have a graet time with all of you. Happy flying and save landings.

:airplane: New pilot reporting for duty!

My name is Paul, and I’m thrilled to be part of this amazing community. I’ve been flying in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 for over 600 hours and currently have an impressive fleet of 241 aircraft in career mode. My favorite planes in the sim include the Cirrus Vision Jet, Cessna Longitude, DracoX, and soon, the A350 (I can’t wait for it to arrive!).

In real life, I’m working on my Private Pilot License (PPL), training on the DA20 and DA40NG. MSFS has been an incredible tool for practicing and staying familiar with landmarks, navigation techniques, and aviation basics that I use during my training.

:speech_balloon: A little about me:

  • I love exploring new places in the sim, especially scenic areas like mountain ranges and coastal cities.
  • My favorite flying experiences often involve IFR flights or challenging approaches.
  • I’m always looking to connect with others, share career mode tips, and learn from the experiences of fellow pilots.

Looking forward to meeting like-minded aviation lovers and sharing our passion for flying. Feel free to reach out or share your favorite tips for both the sim and real-world flying!

Happy flying! :rocket:

New Pilot / Old Pilot

Hi, I am flying with Microsoft since first release or even before that using “subLOGIC Flight Simulator” the time when graphics were less then pixels :sunglasses:

Initially started on my brand new IBM compatible PC and the MSFS was kind of a compatibility test to see the the non IBM PC was really compatible. That was mainly the trigger for me to be addicted to MSFS

Since then I played all the MSFS versions coming down the history as described here : Microsoft Flight Simulator Evolutionary History [Illustrated Timeline]

Nowadays I am only playing on Xbox S/X MSFS-2020 and 2024 because I got used to play other things while MSFS was kind of paused as we all know.

Looking forward to experience that MSFS 2024 get finalized to what it should be to satisfy this MSFS community.

Kind Regards
PapaRoach

Hi you can call me Strangeplz.

I play MSFS 2024 on Xbox Series X.

Ive always been interesting in various forms of flight sims from MsFs to IL-2 or even the worst of the bunch war thunder sim mode.

I am interested in learning how to operate various aircraft only with the avionics and no game help.

I am also super interested in the career mode and hope they expand this mode more.

Thank you for the warm welcome! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: Like I had mentioned, I am beyond happy :hugs: and excited to be here. As for now, my learning is Soley based around the Cessna 172 :small_airplane:because that’s where you start with career mode and well, I LOVE that plane so far!

As for learning more I’m going to look around and see what I can’t find out about the screens inside of the plane. :compass: :world_map: I’m not entirely sure what it is called so bear with me! But the screen that shows basically everything, flight path :world_map:, Degree of pitch, Elevation , Speed , etc. etc… I want to learn more in that department and really getting to know what all the buttons do, especially for auto pilot but mainly just anything I need to know.

So! those are the next steps for now… I’m sure down the road it’ll be different planes but as for now I don’t see any need to switch planes until I really learn what this Cessna has all to offer. Especially since I think future aircraft have more advanced and larger controls, so getting to know what’s the basics and how that all work’s first, seem’s like a good FIRST place to begin…

Hi everyone, Looking forward to flying and to learning how to resolve an issue with binding my Winwing Orion 2 and F16 HOTAS, it keeps telling me I don’t have a ‘gaming config file’ to use for the bindings. Where do I find that file to identify it for the Winwingapp software?
