New update that isn't actually there

So I can’t play and I’m pretty sure I didn’t see anything about an update today. I’ve restarted my PC a few times, tried logging out and logging back in, but I keep getting this screen. Am I just SOL?

if you click OK it should direct you to Microsoft Store then go top right and select updates

I’ve done that and I already have the newest update installed though

Don’t mean to post again, but just tried uninstalling and reinstalling and got the same screen on startup…so I can’t even install the game anymore

Arghh, I just got this in a loop. New update – close MSFS and start MS Store, update (downloaded 50 MB or so), then start MSFS, new update…
After 2 or 3 times I restarted the computer, check the store, started MSFS… and it wants to download 125 GB.
It even wiped my community folder! Everything in the Appdata\Local\Packages… folder was gone and I had a lot more free space.

I have the current update though. Thats the issue

As did I (I’ve flown several times since the release); it still downloaded something. Not sure what.
Last flight was about 4 hours ago.

Theres nothing for me to install through MS Store, Xbox App. Nothing. I’ve restarted my PC like 5 times. tried wsreset.exe and still nothing

OK strange, but after my 7th ish PC restart it decided it wants to run now…now for the long reinstall. So I guess solution is restart PC as many times as you can? Idk.

While the notification is happening in the sim, some folks in the past have found that checking Windows OS, they have pending Operating System updates. Your repeated reboots may have processed those? OS updates would also prevent the sim from starting - something that the Windows Store may be checking for but not letting you know about.

But for OS updates doesn’t it show the process of the OS update? Like percentage complete? None of that popped up for me.

It should appear. I just can’t imagine what else would have happened that a series of reboots would free up the sim to start functioning. Unless the Windows Store had updates pending to itself that wouldn’t take effect without a restart.
