New VD update is a dream, 4090 Q2

@asarjip I don’t think you’d get any additional benefits with your QPro. Everyone’s systems and flying preferences are different so you just need to find what works best for you.

In my case my QPro/i913900k/rtx4090 I mainly use Air Link with 200mbps Dynamic bitrate plus 5mbps Dynamic offset in ODT (helps stabilize my bitrate to 160-170mbps). On the Oculus Desktop app I use 80Hz refresh with the res slider full right. This also works well with my Link cable at 500mbps and while distant objects do look a tiny bit clearer I don’t see enough difference and I prefer to be wireless.

I also use OTT game profile to make sure ASW is switched off because it often switches to auto otherwise. Otherwise you can always just press ctrl+num1 (numeric 1 not top row 1) to turn it off on the fly.

I no longer use OpenXR Toolkit since I upgraded to a rtx4090 but I used to find it helped with my older rtx3090. I also find that TAA (~2200x2200) works better (better cockpit clarity) than DLSS Quality of Balanced, but DLSS does seem to be improving with the latest nvidia drivers so there’s not as much difference now.

I like flying heli’s low and slow in cities like NYC and I’m getting very smooth, stutter free performance. I have used VD for about 4 years, starting with my Q1 but I now prefer Air Link. Probably more of a personal preference thing. Like everything PCVR, you just need to find out what works best for you.

OK, if option for switching between different headsets on same website equals two separate stores… Anyway, you can’t buy anything for wrong headset without reading a clear warning message.

Hi, Could someone write detailed intrsuction step by step how to run fs2020 with VD and snapdragon upscaling method? I’m realy confused because I stuck with FS2020 running with VD and SteamVR. When I’m in cockpit and look left/right whole screen moves with me. Also where to download snapdragon for upscaling, is it quest 2 software ? Thank you for help.

You need the beta version of VD to use the snapdragon upscale for now. See thread above for instructions and go to the VD discord channel for more info.

Ok, I tried this and I have to say it’s a complete game changer. Coming from using a USB cable and Oculus Link, this was quite stunning; Smoother and a lot sharper. I can actually read the instruments now as opposed to simply having to squint and guess.

FYI, you don’t need to use the beta anymore. These features have now been implemented in the regular version.

I did this, but I have no idea why I did it. What do these sliders do and why is it effective?

I had the same problem as you.

What I had to do was to start MSFS2020 and load up a flight. Then I started Virtual Desktop on my Oculus 2 headset. I then went to settings and turned on Snapdragon (it’s part of the regular app now, so just make sure it’s updated), and then choose to launch VR. Once in SteamVR on my headset, I activated VR mode in MSFS2020, which took me into the cockpit without any errors.
