Hi there, There will be a new version that the developer is working on, and I think it will be released sometime in August I believe…It was announced on the AVSIM site…Just wanted to give a heads up…Pricing to be announced
Pilot2ATC Version 3.0 - Pilot2ATC Users Forum - The AVSIM Community
That’s awesome news, I had started using Pilot2ATC a few days after getting into MSFS and used it to learn phraseology before jumping over to VATSIM.
Spent quite a bit of money on Cereproc voices as well for more realism.
It’s a great product and the Developer (Dave) is a top notch guy in terms of support.
While I don’t use it anymore, I still keep up to date with it and noticed he hadn’t published any new Beta builds in awhile, guess this is why. Glad to hear he’s forging ahead.
I agree, the support the Dev provides is excellent. It be interesting to know if it recognises ai traffic!
Also will there be a discount, who previoulsly bought pilot2Atc?
I bought the product soon as it was available, it was my goto ATC due to the support dave provided.
Other offline ATC. (PF3, FSHUD) I will mention pro atc SR but that is dead imho (would not recommend).
However, I am rather now supporting sayintentions ai and BATC.
Competition is healthy, if your not interested in VATSIM and other online Atc.
I guess that’s why the beta channel has gone completely quiet…
Now expected mid September.
Pricing:
Full License: $59.95 USD
Upgrade from V2: $29.95 USD
It will be interesting to see what it offers over and above the current version. As has already been said, competition is very healthy right now and Pilot2ATC3 has got to be more for me than a mediocre evolution.
I will have to decide myself whether to stick with the current version which whilst not perfect is still pretty good or buy the new version or perhaps just switch to BATC which I think will only get better.
Interesting times.
I’m curious to see what improvements 3.0 offers, too. From the couple of videos he’s released, it doesn’t look or sound much different than the current version. It feels like a paid update, not an upgrade.
I’ve been using Pilot2atc since my X-Plane 11 days, before MSFS existed. I haven’t tried SI or BATC yet, but the videos I’ve watched of them haven’t pulled me away from P2ATC. The satellite map and UI elements of P2ATC is what’s kept me using it.
I would be interested in a in an AI solution, but I’m not willing to do anything with a subscription anymore. I know a subscription isn’t required for either of those, but the whole idea of “premium voices” and “cost per character” caused me to lose interest.
I’ve also seen a couple of videos and so far I am struggling to find a reason to update to the newer version.
Hopefully someone (the developer?) will do a comparison and will highlight a number of key improvements. The existing version is quite good (I’ve had it from my XP11 days too years ago) but I will need a solid reason to update given that we now have interesting alternatives like BATC etc. An improvement in the ATC voices (I have all the free Windows’ ones) would convince me but I can’t really see this happening unfortunately. The current ones (mostly pretty robotic imo) break the ‘immersion’ for me. I would definitely need to see AI traffic recognised, however, (if only in FS 24). Without this I really cannot see me updating to be honest.
Slightly going ‘off track’ here a bit but I wonder if the existing version will work with MSFS 2024. Obviously we don’t know yet but this could maybe also be a factor (for me) in upgrading too.
We seem to have similar options on this. I was disappointed to hear the same default windows voice in his second video, which leaves me little hope for better voices. I’m mostly tired of the repetitive scripts. I know exactly word for word what every interaction will say.
Pilot2atc also assigns me the incorrect runway, so I had to turn on “force pilot runway choice” because it would always change what simbrief gave me in favor for a tailwind landing opposite of other traffic.
I’m hoping the new version fixes a lot, but I’m not getting my hopes up.
I’ve been growing impatient while waiting for 3.0 so I decided to try the Say Intentions trial. I hate that I tried it because I absolutely love it! I don’t like that it’s a subscription, but I think I’m now going to pass on P2ATC 3.0 and go fully with SI. Being able to speak completely natural without any scripts makes way more of a difference than I expected
Hi there, I believe there is a Full Demo release of the Pilot2ATC V3 on Dave’s Website.

Soooooo… has anyone tried 3.0 yet? Anxious to hear some impressions before I make any move.
Anyone use yet?
Also interested if there is a convincing reason to upgrade from the previous version.
To me the shortcomings of the previous version were mainly the robotic voices, the inability to see MSFS ai traffic and the limited number of phrases which the addon recognised. If only these were addressed then I would upgrade in an instant.
