Newly appearing "Updates" not fully downloading

This is now so Frustrating,

I check my CONTENT manager, as see some Scenery & Airport updates !!! GREAT

It seems you can’t just UPDATE – You have to delete the old one, and then Download the new one .. OK That’s fair enough.

Downloads, and the appears to be there, but the size is wrong, and it is still saying an Update is needed, with just a few KiB of size to download,

Can’t download, so delete and re-download .. same thing happens .. still shows update in available, and a few KiB of data to still download ??

SO, I go and delete a perfectly Good Plane , and it says, correctly, its not on my PC, but it is in the Library for me to download ( I own it )
I download it, and its fine – same size, all there, all is OK,

But none of these recently “Update available” scenery or Mission items will download and install correctly ??

Whats going on — and what a time for this to happen, a few days before the next CORE update !!

Must be my PC ??? but it was OK before all these “Updates” showed up today !!

Please: Anyone else seeing this today ???

Yes, I now the 1000 / 1024 thing .. but it just sounds so LAME !!!

Yes I feel your pain,
Aircraft just go missing - Then redownloading them doesn’t bring them back.
I’ve been trying to get the 787 back after it disappeared yesterday - no luck.
The installer with this product is flaky, buggy, and destroys the experience for me. Seem much of the time I spend with FS is trying to fix things rather than flying. Yesterday I just gave up trying to get the 787 back, and it’s still not there.

OK, so it’s not just me … I guess there is some consolation in that …

BTW: Emptying my Community folder made no difference.
Re-booting my PC made no difference.
Running MSFS as Adminsitrator made no difference.

Planes that have not changed download OK.

These recent updates, just do not fully don’t load & install

AND, just to really push it ..

One Updated airport, downloaded and still said there was an update, and was stuck with “0B” still needed to be downloaded .. That’s the ultimate “Stick it to you”

This thread may be getting away from itself.

I encountered this problem and after a bit of research, it seems there is a problem with the content manager , where it shows potential updates even though you cannot download them. These updates may come with a future patch. Who knows?

Those updates will not download. They are not available (yet) to download.

So, For example, if it says there is an update for JFK, and you cannot download it, but you already do have the JFK handcrafted airport on your system and working, you have encountered this content manager issue.

Content manager is a mess right now, but luckily, this doesn’t effect the sim itself.

NO, I did NOT say I could not dowload it …

I said I could not dowload it again, till I had deleted what was already there.

This is TRUE of any content - You have to manually delete the Old, before you can update to the new.

So, I did this, and find that it DOES download & install, and the “size” matches the size in the manifest.json file, so I have it all on my HD.. NO misssing parts “Lost” on the Internet.

But it would seem that the issue is with the Content Manager, that reports there is still more to download… and there is not. Its a size mismatch.

This seems to only be occurring only RECENT content.

Typing in all caps does not rule out what has been said above.

Would you mind listing some of these specific items that will not download for us to see if we can replicate?

Actually, I just figured out what is happening, and is a Programming error by Asobo

Wonder if you can figure it out as well, and then maybe we can agree on something - by coming to the answer independently.

The 787 is now missing from my FS
When I go into the content manager, its available to download. I click on it and download. It downloads 688 meg of stuff (approximately)
Then I look for the 787 - it’s still not available
Then I restart FS - It’s still not there
Then I reboot, restart FS - and it’s still not there
Then I go to content manager - and it’s (the 787) available to download
Then I download again with the same result.

You are right about one thing - the content manager isn’t managing!

Yes, I’ve noticed that updates to the third party addons within the content manager require the full re-download (and not just an update to what’s already there). It’s terribly inefficient, but I have not had an issue where it doesn’t fully download - just that every update is essentially redownloading the entire addon.

It’s been the same for 3 updates now.. The content suddenly shows updates being available but they are not downloadable. Then with the next core update they download themselves.. I don’t really see your problem, except that you mess with things you probably shouldn’t. xD

Maybe… just maybe… you should simply have waited for the 13th? I guess there is a point with this date :smiley:

yes i have the same problem, it shows about 29 gbit download. but click install nothing happen. another bug that need to fix.

You have to wIt until tomorrow when they release the patch update. If you read the discrepancies it showl version required 1.9.4 we are at 1.9.3

SO, they made changes … updated some Airports etc GOOD

But once again, a total lack o Communication

All it needed was ..
“We have updated some Airports & Missions, but those update will not be usable till we update the core on ??/??/??”

Or even better & Easier..
Whats the point of putting airport updates on the server, BEFORE the adequate version of MSFS is up there 1st.

Yes, users can check version, and maybe figure it out - eventually - but don;t we have enough to do, just dealing with the Bugs & crashes in the current version.

Not been a Good Monday .. Windows 10 updated on a number of machines and they all lost connection to the NAS. Thank you Microsoft !!!

Lol don’t let it stress you out. Look at it this way any updates you see will always be updated with a patch or major updates, which they do announce like tomorrow’s patch update. Theres no individual updates

In my Case, “Content Manager” indicates CORE CONTENT MANDATORY PACKAGES will be updated when the game is restarted (see attached JPG). Well, I have started the program many times since v1.9.3.0 was installed/updated and never have the “CORE CONTENT” also —>

"Asobo-FLIGHTS-COMMERCIAL-FLIGHT “BUSH-TRIP - NEVADA - BRECKENRIDGE T…” and “EGLL - etc” and
“FLIGHT TRAINING - 1. BASIC CONTROLS” and “FLIGHT TRAINING - 3. TAKE-OFF AND LEV…” and “JAPAN - PROCEDURAL BUILDINGS” “KJFK -etc” and “KFSO - etc” all say UPDATE AVAILABLE. Nothing above ever downloads.

The Plus side is that I can fly almost normal flights in the King Air.
I’m thinking about blowing everything away and waiting for the next update, ie v1.9.4.0 O yeah, and my Tech Insider label is still MIA.
Your thoughts?
