Geese with lidar and high res cameras

Right, that would explain a lot. Interesting to know.
Does anyone know if there are regular and commercial flights to Iqaluit? I saw a video on Sam Chui’s channel and the place is too cold.
There is always regular flights to those northen airports.
People there need things to survive
You have Air Inuit/ Canadian north/ bearskin/buffalo/ first air/etc
Usually with 737-200/ dash8/ twin otters/ king air
Dream of a DLC themed with Buffalo Airways aircraft
That’s outdated, it’s the 29th
Yes
At least one of them is probably Halifax, it has photogrammetry in the Microsoft maps app
They could also be updating some of the existing PG cities with new imagery.
I think that’s what’s happening. Updated PG, or at least correcting errors in existing PG, and adding 2 more cities. I suspect you’re correct about Halifax being one of the extras. I know Vancouver is only partially PG now. So likely they’ll fill that one in.
I still think we’re getting the short end of the stick here though. In all other world updates, X number of PG cities meant NEW PG cities being added, not updates to existing ones.
I feel a Python reference coming on.
Do we know if they are able to source newer map data? Just looking at eastern Canada, the current in game map data is from about 2016 and looking at Bing maps it hasn’t been updated with new satellite imagery…. Still the same image from 2016. So is it safe to assume I can expect very little change to my area?
Yes I think safe to assume whatever you see for Bing aerial is what we will get. Though maybe they can increase the in-game resolution, not sure
It’s a shame. There are visible clouds and the seasons can be different on two sides of the street. Oh well.
here’s to hoping they update the imagery and add airports that were missing in less population dense areas. still bummed they completely missed CYQD just north of me but somehow got CYFO further up is fine, both land ATR 72’s on the daily so they’re not exactly tiny for northern standards.
Either way I’m pumped, really hoping that the local legend being released on the same day is gonna be worth it too! any predictions?
I’m hoping for something useful to actually fly often. While historic novelty aircraft are fun to have and play around with for a while, they end up in the hangar very quickly. I love to have that little Junkers F13 in my hangar, for example, but I haven’t flown her since its release. The view from the cockpit is just too obstructed to be practical. The Ju 52 however is a good plane all around.
Well, as far as predictions go: the Beaver is off the table, obviously, so … I don’t know. A Twin Otter is unlikely as well, because there already is the Aerosoft Twin Otter. Then again, it wouldn’t be the first time that Asobo releases an already existing aircraft (the Porter for example).
Hm … I wouldn’t mind a Lancaster bomber. Sure, it’s a British aircraft but it was built in Canada for the most part.
it’s a long shot in the dark for me but I’d hope it’s the AN-225. Jorg described it as “Canadian but not Canadian.” Canada, or more specifically Manitoba and Ontario has the highest population of Ukrainians in the world outside of Ukraine itself. although that’s being crazy optimistic given that they announced it only months ago.
Q400 would be nice, or really anything by Bombardier honestly.
Would be cool
A total of 430 Mk X Lancasters were built in Canada out of 7,377 of all marks. The vast majority were built in the UK.
Thanks for the correction, must have read some false information when looking for legendary Canadian aircraft.
The De Havilland Dash 8 100 is my pick. Has been used for regional operations in Canada for the best part of 30 years? Xbox needs a passenger turboprop airliner.
The Q400 is too new IMHO.
