I have unzipped all the addons and placed them in the Community folder. Could someone please advise on why they are not showing? Is there a way to tell the game where the Community folder is through the in-game menu? You can do this for the Cache but I dont see an option to do the same for the Community folder. I have 3 physical drives.
Here is my config:
C: <------ Windows & Steam only
D: <------ X-Plane 11
F: <------- Everything else (MSFS is here also)
Path to relevant folders:
F:\Steam Games WD\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator Packages\Community
F:\Steam Games WD\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator Packages\Official
F:\Steam Games WD\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator Cache - Rolling
addons you put in the community folder wont show up in content manager, aircraft will show up in the aircraft selection menu. not sure if this is what you mean. In theory if you unzip a scenery or aircraft into the community folder, just double check that it hasnât created a nested folder within he community folder. Example say I download a scenery unzio it to desktop lets say Qantas747.zip then drag that into the community folder, often when I open that folder in the community folder, there is another folder called qantas747 nested in that one. that happens sometimes. Your steam or Microsoft store version doesnât need to be told where it is/ its smart enough for that. so F:\Steam Games WD\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator Packages\Community is where you place your unzipped folders. go. Of course double check each addon folder to make sure it went well. thatâs all I can think that might be causing the problem
Not sure if your talking about aircraft or scenery or both but for aircraft, they made a change after this update. Aircraft installed into the community folder used to show up under ânot installedâ in the content manager which was counter intuitive.
They do show up now under installed in the content manager under the installed area. Just scroll down through that installed section and they should be now listed there, at the bottom of the list, after the âofficialâ list of aircraftâŠ
You are correct and your solution worked. All the addons had a subfolder. I created a temp folder and cut pasted all the subfolders in there, deleted the empty folders from Community and moved these folders with content into Community. Now all the add ons show up thank you
In case someone else with the same problem finds this post I will clarify. Lets say you download an airplane mod called Cessna 172 Bushkit.
Download and unzip the folder. You might see a sub-folder, this structure:
Thanks for your reply. I havetn checked out the Content Manager actually so thanks for mentioning it. Had the game for about a week and still learning the ropes!
See my reply above , the problem was nested folders, all is well now
