HTC Vive, running through Steam, with Steam version of the game. When I try to enter VR it just pops up an error saying “No Headset Detected”. My headset is plugged in and working 100%, I can see the Steam VR home, hear audio through the headset, etc.
Solution: Opt-In to SteamVR Beta. Restart SteamVR. A popup should appear asking to make SteamVR the default for OpenXR. Enjoy 
also you can check in the VR menu > developper : check that OpenXR environment is using SteamVR
