No option for DLSS Frame Gen all of a sudden

No idea what happened as I’ve been using it since update 2 came out. This evening I noticed that things looked a bit choppy and when I checked my setting frame gen was set to nothing. Tried setting it back to DLSS but the option was gone. All I could select was none or AMD. Tried switch antialiasing to TAA and then back to DLSS, etc., but nothing worked. Did all the usual by rebooting the pc and check the Nvidia app to see if there was an update but nothing is bringing the option back.

Anybody have any ideas? It’s very weird as everything as fine yesterday evening. I have Windows Updates disabled so no new “patches” should have gotten install, but I guess I can double check on that.

Make sure HAGS (Hardware Accelerated graphics) is still on in windows graphics settings.

I have had this exact same problem twice in the last few months. Both times I solved it by reinstalling the nvidia driver with DDU (2x reinstalling it actually) and also had to “repair” windows OS. It took me hours of troubleshooting and I even fully reinstalled MSFS and that didn’t work. But repairing windows and reinstalling the nvidia driver via DDU solved it. It’s an annoying problem because other games didn’t have this problem. Good luck and perhaps my solution might help you.

Tx for the help. I do have HAGS enabled, although I thought about disabling it to see if that makes a dif.

Guess I’ll give DDU a go. Did you have to repair just to get to safe mode, or did you really have to repair the OS?

I had to both reinstall the NVidia driver using DDU (I didn’t use safe mode there, just regular mode and ran it 2 full times), then did a repair of Windows 11 and it downloaded/installed a patch of some kind for the OS.

So if anyone else has this issue and happens across this thread, it was indeed HAGS. I don’t recall disabling it, but when I double-checked this morning it was turned off. Turned it back on, rebooted and all is well again.
