Not at PC, so from memory my steps were:
Boot PC
Launch PC OC2 app
Turn on OC2
Connect PC link cable
Select deny in OC2 HMD
OC2 is now linked to PC
Launch MSFS2020.When loaded up choose ac/airport. Press V to get VR
Put on HMD and press FLY then reset view then FLY
My settings (from memory) in PC OC2 Debug tool:
Pixel density: 1.2
FOV 0.9;0.9
ASW; auto
Encode width: 2784
Bit Rate; 350/400
My settings in the beta version PC OC2 app
72 hz/recommended res.
Settings in MSFS2020:
Rendering seems to have the biggest effect for me on quality and performance. I have this at 100%.
Can’t remember other settings except shadows are low and a bunch of other stuff at medium. Live traffic also is off.
My PC: i5 7600k (o/c 4.6), 2070S (o/c), 48 gb RAM (o/c), multiple SSDs
At EGNM on ground in the Pitts ac I get atm 28 fps which rises to about 37 after take off above 1000 ft.
Some settings in Nvidia Control Panel I can remember:
VR pre rendered frames=4 (to stop frame rate drops?)
Trilinear opt.=on (to turn off quality of far off textures?)
Anistropic filtering=on
Power mgt=max perf.
Msaa=off
Fxaa= on(to stop shimmering?)
I need to experiment with a few other things:
- 90 refresh rate
- higher pixel density in debug tool and lower rendering in game
- some settings in nvidia control panel.
Windows 10 settings:
Turn off game mode
Turn off full screen optimisation
MS Defender doesn’t scan FS2020
I know from looking at comments in the forum that my settings are probably not optimal but they are working for me. I just need at bit more fps. The cockpit textures are quite good and external views just about okay.
I’m a complete VR newbie/novice and learning all the time. But i’ve got something which is at least working for me atm.
