No VR controllers?

I cannot find anything about vr controllers in last discovery part about VR…only mouse and yokes ? what you thing?

I am coming here after using VR in X-Plane for 3 years so was a bit surprised when they were talking about using a mouse and not about touch controllers.

I fly with a yoke and pedals and use my Valve Index controllers so they are always on my hands and had planed on doing the same in MSFS but now not sure.

I’m actually glad for that. I really dislike controllers and almost all other VR sims support mouse to click on buttons, turn knobs etc. Reason nr 1 is that the controllers operate on battery and it really sucks having to charge them over and over to be able to fly, and they are also not “all that” when it comes to flightsims (more important for say shooters and partygames).

I get a much better control over things in AreoFly FS2 and DCS using mouse than i would with controllers. There are good implementations with controllers though (VTOL VR), but having a choice of mouse, keyboard and controllers - I’d use the mouse over anything else. Besides, most of the time, my hands would be on the HOTAS as you mentioned yourself, or even on nothing when flying on AP.

Controllers is a must… Or at least reset vr position on yoke or release breaks on rudders pedals… BUT really annoying with no controllers…

They did mention that they will continue to develop VR so I’m guessing it will come further down the line. I’m happy to make the compromise with the mouse until then.

This is a big disappointment and needs to be implemented. Not everyone sets up at a desktop in their vr pit and like me has a separate VR station with necessary controls laid out within arms reach, typically mounted. There’s no spot for a mouse in that kind of set up. I’ll stick with X-plane for VR if that’s the case.

that should have been 100% part of the VR implementation though, not having it sounds like cutting corners to me. Not one true VR game doesn’t use VR controllers these days.

I’ve got two mice- one conventional wired mouse and a wireless Logitech with a built in trackball that I can sit on my gaming seat arm rest. It’s a great option if you don’t have desk space and need to move the cursor.
