Not able to see friend in World Map or in sim

I have a particular friend who we are never able to view ourselves whenever we want to fly together. Besides the notification that he is online, we won’t be able to see ourselves on the map or in the game, even if we are at the same airport. This is not the case with my other friends. Please what could be responsible for this? We need solutions.

Are you both able to see other people? If you both spawn into a busy mutliplayer airport can you see other players flying around?

If one of you can’t, then go to Settings > General > Data and reset the connection by turning off Online Functionality, then saving, then turning it back on, then saving, then restarting the sim.

Then make sure you’re both connected to the same MSFS server (click your profile on the top right of the main menu in the sim), and both show as online in there.

We see others but can’t see ourselves even when using the same server.

And that’s the same for both of you? Weird. Normally with this issue one of the people can’t see any multiplayer traffic at all

In the window where you set the time and weather for your flights, be sure that both of you have the “All Players” box checked and not just “Live Players”. I think the Live Players setting only shows other players who have chosen the exact same time and weather setup as you have (which may explain why you are seeing some other players in the sky but not each other).

I moved this info General Discussion. Find a Friend is more for meeting other people from the community to fly with.

For what it’s worth, I have a friend with the opposite problem. We can’t see him online or in the World Map, but we do see him in the sim.

Thanks for your suggestions but regrettably, we applied it but still no headway. Perhaps I should shed more light on this problem. Originally, we used to see each other and have flown together. My friend had a problem with his game and had to delete and reinstall the simulator. It is this reinstallation that we can’t see each other again. In the reinstalled version, his ID was changed.
