Not possible to update the game

Impossible to install new update 1.19.8.0
I have written the problem in the specific threat of the update and it is a complete mess of people writting and I have no answer/solution.

I think I have made everything suggested, and no way to have the option to update the game.

When I launch MS Store and clic “Descargas y actualizaciones” (Spanish), I have no update, everything seems to be updated, but when I laungh the game it does not let me play and says that I have to update MSFS using MS Store.

I have installed things that I didnt want to (Accesores de Xbox), to be sure nothing is missing. Of course I have log off, restart and log on the MS Store account.

If I try to install again (“Instalar en mis dispositivos”) I get the message: ¿Dónde quieres instalarlo? Parece que no tienes ningún dispositivo aplicable vinculado a tu cuenta de Microsoft. Para instalar, inicia sesión en un dispositivo con tu cuenta de Microsoft."

It can not be more imprecisse. I just can´t play. The only thing that I suspect is that I have installed on my computer another hard drive in the las two weeks, but it does not affect the hard drive where the game is installed (E: drive).

Very frustrated with this game and MS Store. Only thing I have not try is to uninstall and install again the game, but I thing that is not the soultion (I can not do that with every MSFS Update).

I have exact the same problem. I tried out all the steps in Download & Installations Issues (all 3 parts) in the Zendesk, except the complete reinstallation of the sim. Are there any other ideas, what you can do in such a case? Even an update of the graphic card driver, a reinstallation of the Windows Update and the deactivation of anti-virus software (which was never before an issue) not helped.

Maybe you already know this way, if yes, just ignore my answer:

I had the same problem yesterday evening when it came to the “Please update the Sim via Microsoft store”-Message.

I just installed the XBox App called “XBox” in the store and signed in there. I waited for around 15 minutes and suddenly, the store updated the Sim itself within 20 seconds. After It I was good to go for the Marketplace update in the sim itself. Seems like The Update is “wired” to the XBox App and without it, the store doesn´t check for updates…

No problems updating here (UK MS Store version). Simply started the sim and immediately dropped back to MS Store to pick up a small update, then back to MSFS 2020 to install some 2.6GB. New World Updates (Germany, Switzerland, Austria) remain optional (uninstalled until I want to do so - I don’t).

Note: From the very first installation at launch of the sim, I have never fooled about with the files or their locations, and never done a reinstallation of anything. Maybe that’s why these patches and updates have never been a problem for me.

I never installed the XBox app, I didn’t see any reason for that, when I play the sim on the PC. But I’ll try out now the idea from @Toulouse2112 .

They’ve added it as pre-requisite for this update without telling anyone, very frustrating!

Hi!

After updating “microsoft store” I started the flight simulator and it found an update and I approved it and it started downloading all updates ver 6, but in the meantime so blue screened my computer, so I had to restart, and restarted my flight simulator and then came the question if I wanted to run in safe mode without addons but I have none installed yet so I chose to start normal mode and it stood and searched for updates all the time, it just stands and chews and nothing happens, I tried to remove
file rollingcach.ccc but that did no good!
What should I do??

SOLUTION TO FIX THE BUG :

"We are aware that some users who own Microsoft Flight Simulator through the Microsoft Store are experiencing issues with installing World Update VI. This is an intermittent issue on the Microsoft Store that is affecting many titles including Microsoft Flight Simulator.

In addition to following the steps linked to in our update support guide, we also advise that you download and update the most recent Xbox app update from the Microsoft Store. This workaround has been working well for those not seeing the update:

  1. Go to the Microsoft Store and search for the ‘Xbox’ App.
  2. Download the ‘Xbox’ App and click ‘Launch’.
  3. Once the Xbox App is running, go back to the Microsoft Store to ‘Downloads and Updates’ and click ‘Get Updates’
  4. The MSFS update should start to download."
    5 Reboot the PC and launch MFS

INCREDIBLE !!!, just install XBOX app and update works. Another Microsoft strategy to force people to have contact with things they sell. Why do I have to install this on my compunter if I don’t wnat to???

Please, think about selling Flight Simulator next time at the same price throught Steam, to not forcem e to buy in MS Store. This is my 1st game in MS Store just because I was sure I would have problems like this one… and I presume this is not going to be the last one. Many frustrating hours to end up installing something that I don’t need (and I don’t want to), just because it is a condition to play this game.

Maybe next time M$ forces me to uninstall firefox and update M$ Edge, as a requisite to play MSFS.

Ridiculous situationj…, and nobody is gona pay me the time I have lost !!!
